Buying Advice

Last Updated: December 14, 2018

Falling Demand: 2018 sales of the Ford Focus sales have fallen 25.5 percent relative to sales by this same point in 2017. Class leaders like the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla are outselling the Focus more than 2-to-1.

Slightly Below Average Prices: A base model Focus sedan with an automatic transmission starts at $20,540, which is about $2,200 below the class average. However, if you are interested in the high-performance, hot-hatch Focus RS, be prepared to spend over $36,000.

Time to Buy: Declining demand for the Focus means you may be able to get a discount at the dealership this month. Plus, Ford’s recent announcement that the Focus will soon be discontinued will incentivize dealers to clear out the old inventory. That means more negotiating leverage for you. This month's Ford deals may help you save even more.
