2009 Ford F-150 Overview

Reviewers said the 2009 Ford F-150 is a great performer. They said it is easy to drive and has a comfortable ride. The F-150 came with two V8 engine choices when it was new. Most reviewers tested the larger 5.4-liter V8, and while some said that it doesn’t make the F-150 feel as quick as some rivals, it has ample power for driving with or without a heavy trailer or load in the bed. Two- and four-wheel drive were offered when the F-150 was new. A two-wheel drive F-150 with the smaller V8 and six-speed automatic achieves 15/20 mpg city/highway, which is typical for the class. The F-150 can tow up to 11,300 pounds with the 5.4-liter V8, which is among the best ratings in the class.

The F-150 received high marks from reviewers for its high-quality, upscale interior. The regular cab F-150 has seats for up to three people, while Super Cab (extended) and Super Crew cabs can seat up to six people. Reviewers said the front seats are comfortable and supportive. Like most full-size trucks, the base XL trim came with few notable standard features. Features available as options or on upper trims included power windows, locks and mirrors, a CD stereo with an auxiliary input jack, satellite radio, Ford’s SYNC system, Bluetooth, leather seats, power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, navigation and a backup camera.
