Buying Advice

Last Updated: January 10, 2019

Rising Demand: Expedition sales increased 5.4 percent in 2018 relative to 2017. Still, the class sales-leading Chevrolet Tahoe outsold it by more than 85 percent.

Very High Prices: The Expedition has the highest prices of any large SUV at $52,130, which is a little more than $3,000 higher than the class average. However, the top-of-the-line model price is $79,200 – about $12,000 more expensive than the next highest price in its class, the Toyota Sequoia.

Time to Buy: Even with high prices for the class, the Expedition is still the number one ranked large SUV, so you’ll get your money’s worth if you decide to buy. If you are looking to save money, check out the Chevy Suburban. The Suburban has a base price of just under $2,000 less than the Expedition. Take a look at our Ford deals and Chevy deals pages for the best deals on both models.
