2013 Ford C-Max Energi Overview

The plug-in hybrid 2013 Ford C-Max Energi has an electric motor, a four-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). When in all-electric mode, most reviewers said the C-Max Energi is quick from a stop, but could use more power at higher speeds. When the gasoline motor kicks in, test drivers said acceleration improves, but some noted that the engine can be noisy. According to the EPA, the 2013 C-Max Energi can travel up to 19 miles on electric power alone and gets 88 mpg-equivalent city/highway combined. Some automotive critics said the C-Max Energi can have a stiff ride, but most agreed that it offers an enjoyable driving experience overall thanks to its buttoned-down handling and crisp steering.

Automotive experts said the 2013 Ford C-Max Energi has an attractive interior with quality materials. According to critics, the C-Max Energi’s spacious front and back seats provide plenty of head- and legroom for taller passengers. However, at 42.8 cubic feet, the C-Max Energi’s cargo area is small for a wagon. Standard features include leather upholstery, the MyFord Touch infotainment system, Bluetooth, a USB port and rear parking sensors. Available features include navigation and a motion-activated power liftgate, which opens when you wave your foot under the bumper. Reviewers noted that MyFord Touch has a number of issues, including a touch screen that doesn’t react quickly enough to user inputs.
