Ford Updates the Most Popular Vehicle in America

There's an updated F-150 full-size pickup on the way for 2021. It promises to be the most technically advanced and connected truck on the road. The 2021 Ford F-150 was revealed during an online presentation due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic.

While it's far from the "all-new" truck Ford is touting, the redesigned F-150 brings many new tricks and technologies to the light-duty pickup segment. They include a segment-first full-hybrid powertrain, and safety technologies such as automatic emergency braking present on every model. Though every exterior body panel is new, the truck rides on the same high-strength steel chassis as the 2020 Ford F-150. It still features a body made predominantly from aluminum. Five of the six available powertrain options carry over from the current generation.

On the following pages, we’ll track all of the changes to the new F-150, and explain how they add capability to the truck.
