2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – Zero to 60 mph: 2.95 seconds

When properly equipped, Chevy’s Corvette Z06 is the quickest mass-produced gasoline-only powered vehicle made in the U.S. today. Fitted with the Z07 performance aerodynamic and tire package and an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Z06 can launch from zero to 60 mph in just 2.95 seconds.

If you feel the need to shift your own gears, a Z06 with the Z07 package and a seven-speed manual transmission takes 3.2 seconds to get from zero to 60. Power comes from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that produces 650 horsepower. Pricing for the Z06 starts at $79,400.

All that Z06 power seem over the top? The base Corvette Stingray is priced from $55,400. It’s certainly no slug, getting from zero to 60 in 3.7 seconds when equipped with the automatic transmission. The Corvette is No. 3 in our rankings of luxury convertibles and tied for No. 3 in the luxury sports car category.

The Chevy Corvette Z06 is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
