2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Overview

Reviewers said that the 2010 Ram 1500 is one of the most comfortable-riding and composed trucks in the class, thanks to its unique rear suspension design. Few reviewers tested the Ram 1500’s base V6, but those who did recommended avoiding it. Most preferred the added power of the two available V8s, and most deemed the 5.7-liter Hemi as the best choice. Two- or four-wheel drive were offered on the 2010 Ram 1500. A base Ram 1500 with the V6 and two-wheel drive averages 14/20 mpg city/highway. A couple reviewers pointed out that the more powerful 5.7-liter V8 actually achieves slightly better fuel economy than the smaller, less powerful V8. Overall, the Ram 1500’s fuel economy ratings are about average for the class. The Ram 1500 can tow up to 10,450 pounds with the 5.7-liter V8.

Reviewers said the Ram 1500’s cabin was attractively-designed, with good fit and finish throughout. Several reviewers noted that upper trims of the Ram 1500 have luxurious cabins. A regular cab Ram 1500 has seats for up to three, while quad and crew cab models can seat up to six. Reviewers said both rows of seats have plenty of comfort and support, and both the quad and crew cab are spacious, although one noted that the quad cab doesn’t provide as much legroom as the crew cab. There are few notable standard features, including a six-speaker CD stereo with an auxiliary input jack. Option packages and upper trims added features like a 10-speaker stereo with satellite radio, Bluetooth, navigation, power windows, locks and mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, heated, cooled and power-adjustable front bucket seats, heated rear seats and a rear entertainment system. Also optional when it was new were the RamBox lockable storage compartments in the truck bed’s sidewalls. Reviewers liked this unique storage feature.
