2020 Volkswagen Passat

Volkswagen used the Detroit Auto Show for the debut of the redesigned 2020 Passat. The Passat is built alongside the 2020 Volkswagen Atlas (2018) SUV in Chattanooga, Tenn. The company announced that the plant will soon undergo a massive expansion to produce electric vehicles.

The design of the new Passat is evolutionary from its predecessor. Its profile is more modern and coupe-like, but it retains the generous rear seat room that the current model is known for. Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection comes standard, as do rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring. Every Passat comes with support for Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink, and Android Auto.

The Passat will be covered by Volkswagen’s six-year/72,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
