Tesla Model 3 (2017)

The Tesla Model 3 will be the second affordable, long-range EV. It will be a direct competitor for the Chevrolet Bolt but will not be on the roads until at least the middle of 2017. Fortunately for Tesla, over 400,000 people have preordered the vehicle with a deposit.

Unlike the Bolt, the Model 3 is a sporty, midsized sedan. Other details about the car are still sketchy, as only some aspects have been unveiled to the public. Soon, at a second unveiling, we will know more about the final production model.

What is known is that, like the Bolt, the car will boast over 200 miles of all-electric range. The base price will be around $35,000 before the federal tax credit. Tesla Autopilot will come standard, along with many other Tesla signature features, like a large touch screen and over-the-air software updates. Access to the Supercharger network will be available for a fee.
