The World's Coolest Battery-Electric Vehicles

Tesla Model X

Tesla has surely become one of the world’s most well-known makers of electric vehicles. When it comes to being unique, the Tesla Model X is in its own category. The midsize SUV is the quickest vehicle in its class and packs a myriad of special features, including a 250-mile range.

Tesla is the only company offering its own network of chargers, and it’s growing rapidly. There are over four thousand Superchargers, and an even larger number of destination chargers, worldwide. The company has announced plans to double Supercharger access and quadruple destination charger access in the near future.

The Model X can comfortably seat seven adults, making it the only all-electric vehicle of this type. The rear seating access is especially practical due to the signature falcon wing doors. Its towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. is not generally found in all-electric vehicles. The enormous panoramic windshield goes unmatched.

The dashboard is dominated by a huge touch screen that controls many features, including the infamous Autopilot mode. The SUV also includes Summon mode, for retrieving and parking the vehicle, and the Ludicrous speed option. Free over-the-air software updates lessen service center visits. None of this comes with a cheap price tag ($80,000-$150,000), but if cost is not your primary concern, the Tesla Model X definitely deserves a closer look.

The Tesla Model S is the predecessor of the Model X, and it's quite similar in many ways. It has been rated as one of the safest cars on the road today and is hard to top in the luxury large car class. If you like the Model X but are in the market for a sedan, check out the Model S.
