2020 Chrysler Pacifica Interior Review

Scorecard

Interior: 8.4

The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica has an upscale cabin, a long list of available features, and an easy-to-use infotainment system. This minivan's front seats are comfortable, but the second- and third-row seats feel unsupportive on longer drives. Although many rivals have more cargo space, they lack the versatility of the Pacifica's Stow ‘n Go seats.

  • "The dash has an elegant appearance, with nice materials and good fit and finish. The design emphasizes the width of the cabin, and maintains a simplicity that belies the available technology within." -- Forbes (2017)
  • "In addition to being highly functional, the Pacifica's cabin is unexpectedly elegant. … From the stitching to the piping to the gauges to the vents, the contrast and attention to detail are exquisite." -- Motor Trend (2017)
  • "One of the particularly pleasing things about the Pacifica was its extremely hushed interior." -- Autotrader (2017)

Seating

This minivan seats up to seven people in its base setup, though eight-passenger seating is available. Cloth upholstery and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat are standard. Leather upholstery, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, heated front seats, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, power-folding third-row seats, and a leather-wrapped, heated steering wheel are available.

The front seats are spacious and comfortable, but space gets tighter the farther back you sit, with the third row being best left for kids. The second- and third-row seats do not slide forward or backward, and they can get uncomfortable on longer drives.

The Pacifica has four complete sets of LATCH connectors for securing child car seats.

  • "Second- and third-row seats aren't as roomy or comfortable as rivals'." -- Edmunds
  • "The driver's and passenger's seats are quite comfortable, as you would expect." -- Forbes (2017)
  • The two tested Pacifica versions held seven passengers. While the front seats were comfortable and the rear ones might be for young children, two millennial test riders found the seats -- both second- and third-row -- to be too firm and not particularly comfortable on a 3-hour drive." -- Autotrader (2017)

Interior Features

The Pacifica features the Uconnect infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, a USB port, and Bluetooth. Other standard equipment includes tri-zone automatic climate control, remote start, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert.

Available features include an 8.4-inch touch screen, a navigation system, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 7-inch driver information display, dual 10-inch seatback touch screens, an overhead DVD player, a 13-speaker Alpine sound system, a 20-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, HD Radio, and additional USB ports. A dual-pane and tri-pane sunroof are available too.

Available driver aids include rear and front parking sensors, park assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning with brake assist, a surround-view parking camera system, and adaptive cruise control.

The intuitive infotainment controls, responsive touch screen, and abundance of available features all help boost this vehicle’s interior appeal.

  • "Uconnect is one of the best systems in the class. The controls are simple to understand with a convenient menu on the lower portion of the screen for main commands. Navigation info can be displayed on the center screen or within the gauge cluster for easy viewing." -- Edmunds (2019)
  • "The Honda Odyssey was first to market an in-minivan vacuum, but Chrysler upped the cleanup game with more than 14 feet of hose inside the vehicle and an additional 14 feet that can be added to suck up Cheerios in the vehicle parked next to the Pacifica." -- Autotrader (2017)
  • "The Stow 'n' Vac may be the crowd pleaser, but the Uconnect Theater is a kid pleaser. The rear seat entertainment system features two 10-inch HD touchscreens for rear-seat passengers' enjoyment and is loaded up with apps designed to entertain kids, such as Are We There Yet?, The License Plate Game, Roadtrip Bingo and Checkers." -- CNET (2017)

Cargo

With 32.3 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 87.5 behind the second, and a total of 140.5 behind the first, the Chrysler Pacifica has less cargo room than most rivals. However, the space it does have is much more practical, thanks to the Stow ‘n Go seats that fold down into the floor. (In other vans, the seats need to be removed to access maximum cargo space.) A hands-free liftgate is available.

  • The Pacifica is near the bottom of the class for cargo capacity with 32.3 cubic feet behind the third row and 140 cubic feet with the rear rows folded. But the Stow 'n Go seats provide serious versatility that makes up for the smaller overall volume." -- Edmunds (2019)
  • "Storage options abound throughout the Pacifica -- dash bins, console bins, door pockets, cubbies and pockets. The familiar Stow 'n Go bins are available under the mats when the seats are in use, while the procedure for making the second-row seats vanish has been rendered absurdly simple: flip the floor panel up, pull a lever, press the seat into the well with a click and drop the panel down." -- Autoweek (2017)
  • "There's even more storage available under the load floor, if you choose to leave the seats in place. You can use the Stow 'n Go spaces to hold cargo, and you even fill them [with] ice and keep beverages and food cold. … That's utility that is hard to find even in a mid-size SUV." -- Forbes (2017)
