2021 Chrysler Pacifica Interior Review

Scorecard

Interior: 8.3

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica’s cabin offers a mix of stylish, elegant materials and a few hard plastics. It boasts easy-to-use tech features, but its rear seats lack the cushioning to keep people comfortable on long drives. Also, some vans have more cargo room than the Pacifica. However, since you don’t need to remove any seats, the Pacifica’s cargo hold is highly practical.

  • "Elsewhere in the cabin, the Pacifica is stylish." -- Autotrader
  • "Fit, finish, and materials are several steps above the Dodge Grand Caravan, but a few downmarket plastic pieces lurk inside the cabin. Upscale Limited and Pinnacle models come with a taller center console which blends more seamlessly with the dashboard, giving those trims a more SUV-like feel from behind the wheel." -- Car and Driver
  • "The dash has an elegant appearance, with nice materials and good fit and finish. The design emphasizes the width of the cabin, and maintains a simplicity that belies the available technology within." -- Forbes (2017)

Cargo

The Pacifica has 32.3 cubic feet of space behind the third row and 87.5 cubic feet behind the second row. Folding down the second and third rows opens a total of 140.5 cubic feet of space. While that’s cavernous, some minivans have even more room. However, most other vans don’t have Chrysler’s standard Stow ‘n Go seats, which can fold flat into the floor rather than having to be removed.

A power liftgate comes standard, and a hands-free power liftgate is available.

  • "When it comes to hauling cargo, the Pacifica doesn't disappoint. We managed to fit 53 of our carry-on suitcases inside with all the seats stowed. A built-in vacuum cleaner is available as an option, but it occupies space that can otherwise be devoted to an optional mini-spare tire." -- Car and Driver
  • "Cargo space for both the regular and hybrid models is plentiful, ranging from 32.3 to 140.5 cubic feet. Even so, that’s still not quite as voluminous as the Honda Odyssey. The low step-in height and standard power-operated side doors make access easy for virtually every family member, including those with wagging tails and wet noses." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "The Pacifica is near the bottom of the class for cargo capacity with 32.3 cubic feet behind the third row and 140 cubic feet with the rear rows folded. But the Stow 'n Go seats provide serious versatility that makes up for the smaller overall volume." -- Edmunds (2019)

Seating

The Pacifica is a minivan that can seat seven or eight people, depending on configuration. The top-of-the-line Pinnacle trim comes with second-row captain’s chairs and can only seat seven. Cloth upholstery, second- and third-row Stow ‘n Go seats, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat are standard.

The front seats are roomy and comfortable, but the rear seats are not as well-cushioned because they are designed to fold into the floor. As a result, they may feel firm on longer drives.

Available features include leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, heated front seats, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a power-folding third-row Stow ‘n Go bench seat, hands-free power-sliding doors, and retractable sunshades for the third row.

For installing child safety seats, there are four complete sets of LATCH connectors for the rear outboard seats.

  • "Admittedly a distinctive element providing wonderful versatility for the Pacifica (the seats fold completely into the floor for maximum cargo space, as opposed to physically removing them), they’re still somewhat thinly padded and don’t travel as much on their runners as some rivals." -- Autotrader
  • "The fancy Pinnacle model comes with quilted-leather upholstery and even offers matching lumbar pillows for the second-row captain's chairs. … The Pacifica's standard Stow 'n Go seats offer less padding than those in its rivals because they need to fold up compactly enough to fit inside the floor bins." -- Car and Driver
  • "Up front are comfortable seats, excellent visibility, and a ‘conversation mirror’ that (among other things) allows parents to see when the kids are rolling their eyes." -- Kelley Blue Book

Interior Features

The Chrysler Pacifica comes with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system. It’s offers a responsive 10.1-inch touch screen and an easy-to-follow menu layout. You can hook up your smartphone through standard Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, or wireless Apple CarPlay. Also included are satellite radio, HD Radio, a six-speaker stereo, a USB port, and Bluetooth.

Other standard features include remote start and tri-zone automatic climate control.

Available equipment includes navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, a 13-speaker Alpine stereo, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon stereo, additional USB ports, a DVD player, a rear-seat entertainment system with dual 10.1-inch touch screens, a vacuum cleaner (Stow ‘n Vac), and a dual- or tri-pane panoramic sunroof. • "Airy, spacious, and packed with cubbies, cupholders, slide-out bins, and connectivity, the Pacifica is big on the features that minivan buyers love." -- Car and Driver
  • "The standard infotainment system has a new 10.1-inch touchscreen plus Amazon Alexa compatibility. The touchscreen is easy to use for major functions." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "The Stow 'n' Vac may be the crowd pleaser, but the Uconnect Theater is a kid pleaser. The rear seat entertainment system features two 10-inch HD touchscreens for rear-seat passengers' enjoyment and is loaded up with apps designed to entertain kids, such as Are We There Yet?, The License Plate Game, Roadtrip Bingo and Checkers." -- CNET (2017)
