2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Interior Review

Scorecard

Interior: 8.4

The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has a mostly upscale interior, but there are a few lower-rent materials. The cabin is spacious, the seats are comfortable, and infotainment features are user-friendly.

  • "Elsewhere in the cabin, the Pacifica impresses with handsome styling and user-friendly infotainment features." -- Autotrader (2019)
  • "The interior surfaces of Limiteds have a premium look and feel to them." -- Consumer Guide (2019)
  • At first glance, the Pacifica Hybrid presents an upscale vibe with nice soft-touch surfaces. But on closer inspection, things are less than perfect, with crooked stitching on the steering wheel and door panels, for example." -- Edmunds (2019)

Seating

The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid seats seven people. Cloth upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and power-sliding rear doors are standard. Optional features include leather upholstery (with an available Nappa leather upgrade), heated front seats, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, ventilated front seats, and hands-free sliding rear doors.

The front seats afford good outward visibility, and both the first and second-row seats are plush and comfortable. The third-row seats have sufficient space for adult riders.

For installing child safety seats, there are four complete sets of LATCH connectors: two for the second-row seats and two for the third-row outboard seats. The tether anchors are a little hard to find, and you might confuse the connectors on the third-row seats for other hardware. It requires noticeable force to attach the car-seat straps to the lower anchors, and there's not enough space around the anchors.

  • "The 3rd-row seats are roomy enough for adults to not feel penalized. Up front, Mom and Dad get a commanding perch thanks to comfortable seats, good visibility and a hidden 'conversation mirror' that allows you to monitor the kids bickering in back." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "There’s abundant leg- and headroom while enthroned on comfortable front and middle buckets with flip-up armrests. … There’s easy passage to the third row between the second-row seats, and the rearmost seats will accommodate adults. … Big windows afford good driver vision to nearly any angle." -- Consumer Guide (2019)
  • "Because its second-row seats don't have to origami themselves into the floor, they're more thickly padded and therefore more comfortable." -- Autotrader (2019)

Interior Features

The standard Uconnect infotainment system features an 8.4-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker stereo, a USB port, Bluetooth, voice recognition, HD Radio, and satellite radio. The Uconnect system is straightforward and easy to use, though adjusting some settings requires diving deep into menus. Most controls are logically laid out and easy to reach from the driver's seat.

The Pacifica Hybrid also comes with tri-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, second-row sunshades, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, and a universal garage door opener.

Optional features include remote start, navigation, third-row sunshades, a tri-pane panoramic sunroof, two second-row USB ports, a third-row USB port, a 13-speaker Alpine stereo, a 20-speaker Harman Kardon stereo, a household-style power outlet, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, and two 10-inch seatback touch screens.

Blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera are standard. Available driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, a surround-view parking camera system, automatic high-beam headlights, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, automatic parking assist, front parking sensors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and the Keysense driver monitoring feature.

  • The standard Uconnect 4 … infotainment system is easy to use for major functions, but others such as optional seat ventilation or steering-wheel heat require multiple touches and digging down into sub-menus." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "Elsewhere in the cabin, the Pacifica impresses with handsome styling and user-friendly infotainment features. The standard touchscreen up front is packed with features and is easy to use, while the Uconnect Theater package should keep the kids in the back entertained." -- Autotrader (2019)
  • "The controls inside the Pacifica Hybrid are intuitive and easy to use. The buttons are large and easy to locate within arm's reach of the driver. Touchscreen controls are laid out well with frequently used commands available from the main home screen." -- Edmunds (2019)

Cargo

The Pacifica Hybrid has 32.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats, 87.5 cubic feet behind the second row, and 140.5 cubic feet behind the first row. Those values are a little below-average compared to rival minivans. A power liftgate and a hands-free power liftgate are optional.

  • "Cargo room for both the standard and hybrid Pacifica is deep and plentiful. … The low step-in height and standard power-operated side doors make access easy for every member of the family young and old, including the dog." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • Though not as roomy as gas-only minivans, the Pacifica Hybrid offers more cargo space than competing hybrid or EV crossovers. You get a massive 32.3 cubic feet behind the rear seats, which fold flat at the touch of a button." -- Edmunds (2019)
  • "The Pacifica Hybrid differs from its gas-only sibling by not offering the Stow 'n Go seats that conveniently fold into the floor to easily transform the regular Pacifica from people carrier to cargo carrier. That means the Hybrid isn't as versatile." -- Autotrader (2019)
