2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Interior Review

Scorecard

Interior: 8.5

The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has an upscale interior and a mostly decent build quality. The cabin stays quiet when driving, and there’s a decent amount of cabin space and good passenger comfort. The Pacifica Hybrid’s cargo volume is on par with the rest of the class, and its long list of standard amenities include loads of user-friendly technology.

  • At first glance, the Pacifica Hybrid presents an upscale vibe with nice soft-touch surfaces. But on closer inspection, things are less than perfect, with crooked stitching on the steering wheel and door panels, for example." -- Edmunds
  • "Most materials are top-notch and things are nicely bolted together." -- Autotrader (2018)
  • "Aside from all of the new plug-in hybrid bits, the Pacifica Hybrid doesn't differ much from the standard model. That's no knock, as the new Pacifica shames most everything else in the class. The interior is well designed and well equipped. Standard active noise cancellation makes it so you don't need to shout to third-row occupants." -- Autoblog (2017)

Seating

The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid seats seven on standard cloth upholstery with an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat. Options include leather upholstery, Nappa leather, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and ventilated front seats. The Pacifica Hybrid has four complete sets of LATCH connections. The tether anchors are hard to find, and the lower anchors are difficult to access and use.

Critics debate over the comfort level of the Pacifica Hybrid’s seats, but the cabin is pretty spacious. The second row has decent room for grown-ups, but the last row isn’t very adult-friendly.

  • All three rows have firm padding, so you may not find the seats to be quite as comfortable as those on other minivans. … The second-row seats are just large enough for adults; the third row is most suitable for kids." -- Edmunds
  • "The interior is remarkably quiet, not only devoid of excessive road and wind noise, but [also] those annoying squeaks and rattles that often accompany minivan interiors." -- Kelley Blue Book (2018)
  • "As far as passenger comfort, this is a premium cabin. … It's about as convenient as you can make a minivan." -- Autotrader (2018)

Interior Features

Standard features in the 2019 Pacifica Hybrid include tri-zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert. The standard Uconnect infotainment system features an 8.4-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a USB port, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, and HD Radio. Uconnect is user-friendly, with quick response times and menus that are easy to navigate. The controls on the screen and the dash are easy to reach as well.

Optional features include navigation, a single rear-seat DVD screen, remote start, two 10-inch seatback touch screens, a 115-volt power outlet, three additional USB ports, a Blu-Ray/DVD Player, wireless headphones, a 13-speaker Alpine stereo, a 20-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and a panoramic sunroof. • "The controls inside the Pacifica Hybrid are intuitive and easy to use. The buttons are large and easy to locate within arm's reach of the driver. Touchscreen controls are laid out well with frequently used commands available from the main home screen. … Uconnect is one of the best systems in the class. The controls are easy to understand with a convenient menu on the lower portion of the screen for main commands." -- Edmunds
  • "Uconnect itself remains a very good combination of navigation, apps and stereo. Destination input is intuitive and easy, helped by a responsive touchscreen. A dedicated data connection in the car powers apps such as Yelp, making it easy to find local businesses and restaurants." -- CNET (2017)
  • "UConnect continues to be one of the better infotainment systems on the market." -- Autoblog (2017)

Cargo

The Pacifica Hybrid has 32.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats, 87.5 cubic feet behind the second row, and 140.5 cubic feet behind the first row. To unlock the maximum storage capacity, you’ll have to manually remove the second-row seats from the cabin, which can be a chore. A power liftgate and a hands-free liftgate are optional.

  • "Though not as roomy as gas-only minivans, the Pacifica Hybrid offers more cargo space than competing hybrid or EV crossovers. You get a massive 32.3 cubic feet behind the rear seats, which fold flat at the touch of a button." -- Edmunds
  • "Chrysler engineers sacrificed the convenient Stow N' Go second-row seats, converting that section of the floor into a storage area for the hybrid battery pack. … [T]he loss of Stow N' Go certainly robs this minivan of a sizable chunk of its versatility." -- Autotrader (2018)
  • The placement of the battery in the middle of the van forces some compromises. There are no more second-row Stow 'n Go seats since the battery sits where the seats would fold into the floor. A flat cargo area can still be made by folding the third row into the floor and removing the second-row seats, but that can be cumbersome. … But if you don't anticipate needing to remove the seats often for extra cargo room, that's pretty much the only compromise. Overall cargo room remains the same; the battery doesn't intrude on the cabin at all." -- Cars.com (2017)
