Which Used Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Trim Is Right for Me?

The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid comes in three trims: Touring Plus, Touring L, and Limited. Even the base trim comes fairly well-equipped, making it a fine choice for many buyers. If your budget is more flexible, however, consider the top Limited trim, which adds a considerable dose of luxury with its additional comfort and convenience features.

  • Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring Plus: The base Touring Plus trim comes standard with cloth upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat, tri-zone automatic climate control, a six-speaker audio system, satellite radio, HD Radio, an 8.4-inch touch-screen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.
  • Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring L: The Pacifica Hybrid Touring L adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power liftgate.
  • Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Limited: The range-topping Limited trim gets you a power-adjustable front passenger seat, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 20-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, navigation, and adaptive cruise control.

What Does Chrysler's Certified Pre-Owned Warranty Cover?

Chrysler has a certified pre-owned program for vehicles less than five years old and with fewer than 75,000 miles. Buyers get the balance of the 7-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. They also receive a 3-month, 3,000-mile maximum care warranty that covers most major components and is good from the date you purchase your CPO Chrysler. If your CPO Chrysler has any of the original 3-year, 36,000-mile new-vehicle warranty remaining, the maximum care warranty kicks in when the new-car warranty expires. Chrysler CPO vehicles must pass a 125-point inspection. Additional benefits like towing and 24-hour roadside assistance may be available, so read Chrysler’s warranty page carefully.

Chrysler has one of the worst CPO programs among affordable carmakers, according to our analysis. Kia, Hyundai, Chevy, Ford, Honda, and Mazda are all better.

2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Versus the Competition

Which Is Better: 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid or 2018 Toyota Sienna?

The 2018 Toyota Sienna has more cargo space than the Pacifica Hybrid, and the Sienna is the only minivan to offer all-wheel drive. The Chrysler, however, delivers a smoother ride and better handling, and it comes with more features. The Toyota has a slightly higher predicted reliability rating. These two are pretty evenly matched, but the Chrysler is the slightly better choice here.

Which Is Better: 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid or 2018 Chrysler Pacifica?

The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and its hybrid counterpart are basically identical outside of the powertrain. Not surprisingly, the Pacifica Hybrid gets better gas mileage. However, the nonhybrid Pacifica offers Chrysler's Stow 'n Go second-row seats, which easily fold flat into the floor to maximize cargo capacity. The hybrid model doesn't have them, as the battery packs take up space in the floor where the seats would fold into. The right choice here boils down to how much you like those fold-flat seats or how little you enjoy filling up on gas.

2018 Pacifica Hybrid Performance

How Does the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Drive?

This minivan, like most hybrids, gets instant torque from its electric motors and thus has quick acceleration off the line. It also has ample power for highway driving, including passing and merging maneuvers. The Pacifica handles reasonably well, and it's easy to drive. It also delivers a smooth ride even over rough pavement. The Pacifica’s regenerative braking system feels almost like traditional brakes, which isn't always the case with hybrid vehicles.

The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid, which means it can operate for a limited range using only electric power before switching to gasoline power. This minivan has an all-electric range of 33 miles. To recharge the Pacifica Hybrid, you simply plug it in. The standard level 1 charger and a 120-volt outlet will recharge the hybrid batteries in around 14 hours. With an available level 2 charger and a 240-volt outlet, the batteries will be full in just about two hours.

We cover the nonhybrid Chrysler Pacifica in a separate review.

  • Base powertrain: 3.6-liter V6 and two electric motors that produce a combined 260 horsepower
  • Drivetrain: front-wheel drive
  • Transmission: continuously variable automatic (CVT)
Does the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Get Good Gas Mileage?

The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is extremely fuel-efficient for a minivan.

  • 32 mpg combined city/highway; 84 mpg-equivalent under electric power
2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Towing Capacity

The Pacifica Hybrid is not recommended for towing.

2018 Pacifica Hybrid Interior

How Many People Does the 2018 Pacifica Hybrid Seat?

The 2018 Pacifica Hybrid seats seven people in three rows. The cabin is quiet, even at highway speeds, and it feels more luxurious than some rival interiors thanks to its many soft-touch materials. The front seats leave you sitting up high, giving the driver a nice view of the road ahead. There's plenty of headroom in all three rows, and it's easy to get in and out of both rear rows because of the wide side door openings and the sliding second-row seats.

Standard seating features:

  • cloth upholstery
  • power-adjustable driver's seat
  • power-sliding rear doors

Available seating features:

  • leather upholstery
  • power-adjustable passenger seat
  • heated and ventilated front seats
  • heated steering wheel
How Many Child Car Seats Fit in the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid?

The 2018 Pacifica Hybrid has four complete sets of LATCH car-seat connectors: two sets on the rear outboard seats of the second row and two more on the third-row outboard seats. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the Pacifica's LATCH system the second-lowest rating of Marginal for ease of use. The tether anchors are hard to find, and the lower anchors require a lot of force when connecting straps.

2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Features

This Chrysler minivan comes with some nice features, particularly the Uconnect infotainment system. It's user-friendly and responsive, making it one of the best systems around. It also includes helpful smartphone connectivity apps like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

  • Standard infotainment features: an 8.4-inch touch screen, a six-speaker audio system, satellite radio, HD Radio, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay
  • Available infotainment features: a 20-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, navigation, and a dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system
  • Additional standard features: tri-zone automatic climate control
  • Other available features: a wireless charging pad and a panoramic sunroof

2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Dimensions

Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Cargo Space

The Pacifica Hybrid has the same amount of cargo space as the nonhybrid Pacifica, which isn't always the case for hybrid vehicles. There's 32.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats, 87.5 cubic feet behind the second row, and 140.5 cubic feet behind the first row. That's less than you'll get in most rival minivans but still significantly more than in most SUVs.

Sadly, the Pacifica Hybrid doesn't have Chrysler's Stow 'n Go seats. In the gas-only Pacifica, the second- and third-row seats easily fold into the floor to give you maximum cargo room. In the Pacifica Hybrid, only the third row folds. You must physically remove the heavy second-row seats to fully open up the cabin.

These cargo dimensions are for comparative purposes. There is no substitute for visually examining the storage area in any car you’re considering.
