2019 Chrysler 300 Interior Review

Scorecard

Interior: 8.5

The 2019 Chrysler 300 uses plenty of premium materials throughout its quiet cabin, leading to an extremely upscale feel that wouldn't seem out of place in a luxury sedan. Both rows of seats are spacious, though they could be more supportive, and outward visibility is not great. The infotainment system is easy to use, and trunk space is average for the class.

  • "Assembly appears tight and finished, with good cabin materials and attention to panel gaps. Tight seals are part of the reason this car is so quiet. It feels like a more expensive German or Japanese legacy luxury car." -- Edmunds
  • "If you're a passenger in the 300, you're in for a treat: The sedan boasts comfortable seats, a smooth ride and lots of room in virtually every direction." -- Autotrader (2016)
  • "What really sets the 300 apart from other sedans in this class is its interior. Elegant even in base guise, the 300 serves up more variety, more color and more upscale options than some full-blown luxury sedans." -- Kelley Blue Book (2016)

Seating

The 300 seats five people and comes standard with cloth upholstery and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Nappa leather upholstery, a power-adjustable passenger seat, heated front seats, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel are available.

This sedan features a spacious interior, and both rows have ample room for adult passengers. You can even seat three across the back without much trouble. The large doors make it easy to enter and exit the vehicle, and it's easy to find a good driving position. Visibility is somewhat limited by the thick roof pillars, however, and the seats could provide more support.

There are three complete sets of LATCH car-seat connectors in the 300. On the outboard rear seats, the lower anchors are too deep in the seats but easy to maneuver around. The middle seat has lower anchors that are deep in the seat but don’t have much space around them. A little force is required to attach the seat straps to any of the lower anchors once you access them.

  • "Big on the outside, big on the inside – the 300 adheres to this classic formula. It earns high marks for ease of entry and exit, a solid driving position, straightforward controls and copious passenger space. The main downside is the iffy visibility that results from its chunky styling." -- Edmunds
  • "Faithful to its raison d'etre, the … Chrysler 300's 5-passenger interior is comfortable and roomy. At over 40 inches, rear-seat legroom is especially commendable. The driver's seat is a great place to work, and higher trims add convenient features like a power-adjustable steering wheel and heated/ventilated seats. Front-seat passengers, though, may feel crowded by the hump that houses part of the 300's powertrain." -- Kelley Blue Book (2016)
  • "Any 300 has about as much room in the front seat as any car on the market, making it ideal for big guys but less than supportive during aggressive cornering. The rear seat is big, too, with plenty of room to accommodate three adults." -- Autotrader (2015)

Interior Features

Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, push-button start, and the Uconnect infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touch screen, a six-speaker audio system, satellite radio, Bluetooth, two USB ports, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Available features include a panoramic sunroof, a 10-speaker Alpine audio system, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, navigation, remote start, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

The Uconnect infotainment system is one of the best in the class. You can easily read the touch screen because of its sharp graphics, and it responds quickly to inputs. Uconnect also has an intuitive interface.

  • "Uconnect is one of the best infotainment systems available, both for its larger touchscreen and its intuitive interface that effectively mixes useful tactile controls with a touchscreen interface for deeper functions. Other highlights include crisp graphics and optional audio systems." -- Edmunds
  • "The 300 also offers Chrysler's excellent Uconnect infotainment system, which is standard on all models. We think it's the best in the business thanks to a huge screen and easy-to-use on-screen instructions." -- Autotrader (2016)
  • "The next largest small change stares you in the face. The new instrument cluster shows clear influence from the all-new Chrysler 200 and adds a great deal of functionality. The dials remain watch-like in appearance, but they're now split by a 7.0-inch customizable display that provides the driver with far more information that's much clearer and easier to read." -- Motor Trend (2015)

Cargo

The 300 provides 16.3 cubic feet of trunk space, which is a typical amount for a large car. Standard split-folding rear seats give you some flexibility to haul larger items. However, the trunk's high liftover height can make it tough to load heavy objects. The prominent wheel wells also make the available space somewhat narrow for wider objects.

  • "The 300's 16.3-cubic-foot trunk is decent for a big sedan. The 60/40-split folding rear seats add utility. But the liftover height is higher than average, and the trunk is a bit narrow between the wheels." -- Edmunds
  • "At over 16 cubic feet, the 300's trunk is large, and the rear seats fold in a 60/40 split for added cargo flexibility." -- Kelley Blue Book (2016)
  • "The sedan's interior proportions carry over. The large, comfortable backseat and wide, cavernous trunk provide oodles of room for tall adults and plenty of luggage." -- Cars.com (2015)
