2020 Chrysler 300 Interior Review

Scorecard

Interior: 8.1

Although the 2020 Chrysler 300 hasn’t been updated in a few years, it still has one of the nicest cabins in the class. It features premium materials, plenty of passenger space, and an outstanding infotainment system. Trunk space in the 300 is on par with that of class rivals.

  • Throughout the lineup, the 300 utilizes soft-touch rubberized plastic with a leather-grain pattern to cover the dashboard and upper door panels. The texture feels nice but looks artificial. The interior design is aging, and not gracefully; rivals such as the Kia Cadenza and the Buick LaCrosse simply outclass the 300 in this area." -- Car and Driver
  • "Assembly appears tight and finished, with good cabin materials and attention to panel gaps. Tight seals are part of the reason this car is so quiet. It feels like a more expensive German or Japanese legacy luxury car." -- Edmunds (2019)
  • "The voluminous cabin also happens to be covered in premium materials with a handsome dash, the latest in high-tech safety and infotainment features and some of the best audio options around." -- Kelley Blue Book (2019)

Seating

The 300 has comfortable seating for up to five people, and there's lots of space throughout the cabin. However, the thick roof pillars limit visibility to the rear.

Cloth upholstery and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat are standard. For installing child safety seats, the 300 has three full sets of LATCH connections.

Nappa leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, heated front and rear seats, and ventilated front seats are optional. You can also equip the 300 with memory settings for the driver's seat, power-adjustable steering wheel, exterior mirrors, and radio presets.

  • "Now, if you're a passenger in the 300, you're in for a treat: This full-size sedan boasts comfortable seats and lots of room in virtually every direction." -- Autotrader (2019)
  • "The 2019 Chrysler 300’s expansive interior is one of its best features. The voluminous cabin also happens to be covered in premium materials with a handsome dash, the latest in high-tech safety and infotainment features and some of the best audio options around." -- Kelley Blue Book (2019)
  • Rearward visibility is scarce due to a rising beltline and massive roof pillars. The side windows are nice and tall, but there are massive blind spots that necessitate careful and deliberate lane changes." -- Edmunds (2019)

Interior Features

Compared to other infotainment systems, the Chrysler 300's Uconnect setup is a shining star. Highlights include an 8.4-inch touch screen, sharp graphics, and quick response times. Other standard technology includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, six speakers, Bluetooth, two USB ports, satellite radio, HD Radio, voice recognition, push-button start, proximity keyless entry, and a rearview camera.

You can upgrade the 300 to come with a nine-speaker Alpine or 19-speaker Harman Kardon stereo system, navigation, and remote start. There are also many safety options, such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

  • "We appreciate Chrysler's Uconnect infotainment system for its ease of use, intuitive menu layout, and snappy performance. The 300's standard 8.4-inch touchscreen display features this easygoing interface and sweetens the deal with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto." -- Car and Driver
  • "Uconnect is one of the best infotainment systems available, both for its larger touchscreen and its intuitive interface that effectively mixes useful tactile controls with a touchscreen interface for deeper functions. Other highlights include crisp graphics and optional audio systems." -- Edmunds (2019)
  • "The 300 also offers Chrysler’s excellent UConnect infotainment system, which is standard on all models, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s one of the easiest to use in the business thanks to a huge screen and easy-to-use on-screen instructions." -- Autotrader (2019)

Cargo

The Chrysler 300 has a 16.3-cubic-foot trunk. Space-wise, that puts it in line with what other large cars offer. The standard 60/40 split-folding rear seats improve cargo carrying flexibility, but they do not fold completely flat. The trunk also has a narrow opening, which can make loading some items difficult.

  • "Almost every car in this segment managed six carry-on boxes inside the trunk, but the 300's large interior space allowed us to fit an additional 10 boxes with the rear seats folded. Those seats can be split in a 60/40 arrangement, but they don't fold completely flat." -- Car and Driver
  • "With room for five adults, the 300 is a true full-size sedan, and its 16-cubic-foot trunk is equally up to the task." -- Kelley Blue Book (2019)
  • A big trunk, split-and-folding rear seat, plenty of storage space and expansive rear-seat room make the 300S not just an excellent car for carrying passengers but also for cargo. The large but narrow trunk will inhale many things, but you'll need to consider how to arrange a full load." -- Edmunds
