2021 Chrysler 300 Interior Review

Scorecard

Interior: 8.0

The 2021 Chrysler 300 is filled with mostly quality materials, but its overall design is showing its age. The 300 has a generous amount of passenger space and cargo room, as well as an easy-to-use infotainment system.

  • "Chrysler utilizes soft-touch rubberized plastic with a leather-grain pattern to cover the dashboard and upper door panels of every 300. The texture feels nice but looks artificial. The interior design is aging, and not gracefully. The Kia Cadenza simply outclasses the 300 in this area." -- Car and Driver
  • "Some below-par cabin materials are frequent reminders of the 300’s advancing years. And virtually every rival is more modern, offering much fresher technology. But there’s still a semi-luxurious feel, and the 300’s strong presence remains undimmed." -- Autotrader
  • "The 300's interior is solidly built. Chrysler paid a lot of attention to fit and finish, and the quality of the materials is also pleasing." -- Edmunds (2020)

Cargo

With 16.3 cubic feet of trunk space, the 300 has a typical amount of space for the large car class. The 60/40-split-folding rear seats fold down to expand the cargo area further and make room for longer items.

  • "The 300, like just about every car in this segment, manages to fit six carry-on boxes inside the trunk. With the rear seats folded, it swallowed another 10. Those seats can be split in a 60/40 arrangement, but they don't fold completely flat." -- Car and Driver
  • "Chrysler made good use of available space in the 300. Room in the trunk, at 16.3 cubic feet, is very good for the class, especially considering the rear-drive hardware underneath." -- Edmunds (2020)
  • "With room for five adults, the 300 is a true full-size sedan, and its 16-cubic-foot trunk is equally up to the task." -- Kelley Blue Book (2019)

Seating

There's seating for up to five people in the 300's cabin. It has plenty of space for adults, and the seats are comfortable. Standard comfort features include cloth upholstery and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat. Available features include an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, Nappa leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, sport seats, a heated steering wheel, and memory settings for the driver's seat and the power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel.

For installing child safety seats, there are three complete sets of LATCH connectors for the rear seats. The upper tethers are easy to find, but the lower anchors are set too deeply in the seats.

  • "All occupants will enjoy comfortable seats and lots of room in virtually every direction." -- Autotrader
  • "Inside, the 300 offers a spacious cabin for four adults. Alternatively, the wide bench seat in back will easily accommodate three kids." -- Car and Driver
  • "The seats are also plush and supportive, and even sportier 300S versions prioritize comfort." -- Edmunds (2020)

Interior Features

The 300 comes standard with Uconnect, one of the most user-friendly infotainment systems on the market. The system features a large 8.4-inch touch screen with sharp graphics, logically arranged menus, and quick response times.

Other standard features include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, voice command, two USB ports, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, and a rearview camera.

Optional features include a nine-speaker premium audio system, remote start, navigation, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rain-sensing windshield wipers, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and fog lights.

  • "We appreciate Chrysler's Uconnect infotainment system for its ease of use, intuitive menu layout, and snappy performance." -- Car and Driver
  • "The 300 also has Chrysler’s excellent UConnect infotainment system that’s standard throughout, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s one of the simplest to operate, thanks to a huge screen and user-friendly on-screen instructions." -- Autotrader
  • "Uconnect is one of the best infotainment systems available, both for its larger touchscreen and its intuitive interface that effectively mixes useful tactile controls with a touchscreen interface for deeper functions. Other highlights include crisp graphics and optional audio systems." -- Edmunds (2019)
