2017 Chrysler 300 Interior Review

Note: This interior review was created when the 2017 Chrysler 300 was new.

Interior: 8.5

The 2017 Chrysler 300 has a high-quality cabin, with impressive materials and a wide range of design and trim piece options. There is above-average passenger room, especially in the back seat, but the front seats are a little uncomfortable and need more support. A standard infotainment system functions well and is easy to use. Cargo space is plentiful but only average for the class.

  • "If you're a passenger in the 300, you're in for a treat: The sedan boasts comfortable seats, a smooth ride and lots of room in virtually every direction." -- Autotrader (2016)
  • Although the inside of a Chrysler 300 may not feel as upscale and plush as a European luxury sedan, it has quality furnishings for a sedan in this price range and it's definitely a good place to spend some time." -- Edmunds (2016)
  • "What really sets the 300 apart from other sedans in this class is its interior. Elegant even in base guise, the 300 serves up more variety, more color and more upscale options than some full-blown luxury sedans." -- Kelley Blue Book (2016)

The 2017 Chrysler 300 seats five on standard Nappa leather upholstery, with heated and eight-way power-adjustable front seats. Available seating features include leather and suede front sport seats, quilted Nappa leather, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and driver’s seat and steering wheel memory settings.

Passenger space is more than ample in all of the 300’s seating positions. The back seat can comfortably seat three, and it boasts excellent legroom. The front seats are equally roomy, but can lack support through turns.

There are three complete sets of LATCH car-seat connectors in the 300. On the outboard rear seats, the lower anchors are too deep in the seats but easy to maneuver around. The middle seat has lower anchors that are deep in the seat but also have very little space around them. It requires little force to attach the seat straps to any of the lower anchors once you access them.

  • The reason the 300 is so big on the outside is because it's so spacious on the inside. It gets high scores for ease of entry/exit and overall passenger volume, plus it has a big trunk. Rearward visibility, however, is a problem." -- Edmunds
  • Faithful to its raison d'etre, the … Chrysler 300's 5-passenger interior is comfortable and roomy. At over 40 inches, rear-seat legroom is especially commendable. The driver's seat is a great place to work, and higher trims add convenient features like a power-adjustable steering wheel and heated/ventilated seats. Front-seat passengers, though, may feel crowded by the hump that houses part of the 300's powertrain." -- Kelley Blue Book (2016)
  • Any 300 has about as much room in the front seat as any car on the market, making it ideal for big guys but less than supportive during aggressive cornering. The rear seat is big, too, with plenty of room to accommodate three adults." -- Autotrader (2015)

  • "The 300 also offers Chrysler's excellent Uconnect infotainment system, which is standard on all models. We think it's the best in the business thanks to a huge screen and easy-to-use on-screen instructions." -- Autotrader (2016)
  • "On the technology front, the standard 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen interface is one of our favorites, pairing large buttons and crisp graphics with a logical menu structure. … We also appreciate the 300's diverse array of audio options." -- Edmunds (2016)
  • "The next largest small change stares you in the face. The new instrument cluster shows clear influence from the all-new Chrysler 200 and adds a great deal of functionality. The dials remain watch-like in appearance, but they're now split by a 7.0-inch customizable display that provides the driver with far more information that's much clearer and easier to read." -- Motor Trend (2015)

The 300 offers 16.3 cubic feet of trunk space, which is about average for the class. The rear seat can fold down to increase capacity, but the large wheelwells take away some space.

  • Luggage capacity is average for a large sedan, checking in at 16.3 cubic feet, but the rear wheelwells intrude on trunk space a bit and may limit loading depth for larger items." -- Edmunds (2016)
  • "At over 16 cubic feet, the 300's trunk is large, and the rear seats fold in a 60/40 split for added cargo flexibility." -- Kelley Blue Book (2016)
  • "The sedan's interior proportions carry over. The large, comfortable backseat and wide, cavernous trunk provide oodles of room for tall adults and plenty of luggage." -- Cars.com (2015)
