2015 Chrysler 300 Interior Review

Note: This interior review was created when the 2015 Chrysler 300 was new.

Interior: 8.3

Test drivers report that the 2015 Chrysler 300 has a quiet and well-appointed interior made with high-quality materials. They say seating is comfortable and roomy in both rows, and that the infotainment system is easy to use. The 300’s cargo space is about average for the class.

  • "Inside, the quality of materials has risen even further than the existing car, and the fit and finish is impeccable." -- Motor Trend
  • "The Platinum interior is indeed premium--here the Baby Bentley thing might legitimately apply. The matte finish, open-grain wood is excellent, and liberally applied. The leather dash and console are good, and the quilted door panels, great." -- AutoWeek
  • "Already a fine place to sit as a driver or passenger, the Chrysler 300 cabin receives only subtle upgrades. These include nicer gauges, improved materials and a rotary-dial shifter that replaces a conventional gear stalk." -- Edmunds
  • "The theme inside is modern yet classic. The latest suite of technology features are paired with a tastefully designed cabin trimmed in upscale materials with a clear emphasis on detail." -- Cars.com

The 2015 Chrysler 300 has seating for five and comes standard with leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats and heated front seats. Optional features include ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. Most auto writers think the 300’s front seats are spacious and comfortable, although some say they could use more side support during spirited driving. The rear seats are roomy and plush, according to critics. Reviewers note the 300 rides quietly at speed.

  • "The front seats are roomy, but not the most supportive. You'll want to move and wiggle every so often to get the blood flowing and inhibit numb cheeks. All 300s are quiet and tight." -- AutoWeek
  • "The seats, while quite comfortable, aren't made for serious handling maneuvers. …" -- Motor Trend
  • "Starting out from the heart of downtown Austin, the 300C immediately proved to be quiet and comfortable cocoon, isolating us from the noise and confusion of the morning rush hour." -- Left Lane News
  • "Given the Chrysler's ample proportions, it should come as no surprise that there's plenty of room for occupants of all sizes. The adjustability of the driver seat and tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel is particularly generous, while the rear seats are both spacious and supportive. Compared with other large sedans, though, the middle rear seat isn't as comfortable or useful due to the 300's transmission tunnel hump." -- Edmunds (2014)

Interior Features

The 2015 Chrysler 300 comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, Bluetooth, a six-speaker audio system and Chrysler’s Uconnect infotainment system, which includes an 8.4-inch touch-screen display, an auxiliary input, a USB port and satellite radio. Available features include a rearview camera, navigation, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, HD Radio, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and one of three premium audio system options including BeatsAudio and Harman Kardon surround sound.

Automotive journalists report that the 300’s infotainment system features easy-to-understand menus, quick-responding touch controls and sharp graphics. Critics like the 300’s new rotary shifter, which they say is better than the previous shift lever that didn’t make it clear what gear the car was in. They also are impressed with the availability of various audio system upgrade options.

  • "Again this year, every facet of the Uconnect multimedia system is refreshingly simple to use from its intuitive menu structure to its large, responsive touch-sensitive buttons." -- Cars.com
  • "The most important interior update is the banishment of the maddening detent-less shifter, which made it difficult to tell whether you were in reverse, neutral, or drive. The 2015 Chrysler 300 has the same excellent rotary shifter found in the smaller 200 (and Jaguars)." -- Automobile Magazine
  • "The next largest small change stares you in the face. The new instrument cluster shows clear influence from the all-new Chrysler 200 and adds a great deal of functionality. The dials remain watch-like in appearance, but they're now split by a 7.0-inch customizable display that provides the driver with far more information that's much clearer and easier to read." -- Motor Trend
  • "On the technology front, the standard 8.4-inch touchscreen interface is one of our favorites, pairing large buttons and crisp graphics with a logical menu structure. We also appreciate the 300's diverse array of audio options, including an Alpine system, a Harman Kardon system, and of course the thumping Beats by Dr. Dre setup." -- Edmunds (2014)

The 2015 Chrysler 300 has 16.3 cubic feet of trunk space, which is on par for the class. Some reviewers are pleased with the size of the 300’s trunk, while others think there isn’t much luggage space for a large sedan and that the wheel wells cut into the space. Some critics like the storage space for smaller items in the center console and spacious glove compartment.

  • "The sedan's interior proportions carry over. The large, comfortable backseat and wide, cavernous trunk provide oodles of room for tall adults and plenty of luggage." -- Cars.com
  • "Luggage capacity is average for a large sedan, checking in at 16.3 cubic feet, but the wheelwells may limit loading depth for larger items." -- Edmunds (2014)
  • "Interior storage consists of a large glovebox, center console, and door pockets. The available heated and cooled cupholders are a nice convenience." -- Consumer Guide (2013)
  • "Unfortunately, the trade-off for the 300's roomy back seat is a somewhat small trunk." -- Kelley Blue Book (2013)
