2010 Chrysler 300 Interior Review

Note: This interior review was created when the 2010 Chrysler 300 was new.

Interior: 8.2

Chrysler appears to have done a good job with the design of the 300's cabin, but a less-successful job with building it. The cabin is spacious and looks stylish. It should be an exceptional cabin, but reviewers complain of sub-standard materials and shoddy fit and finish. Those looking for a luxurious cabin in this price range should consider the Hyundai Genesis, which offers true luxury quality at a sub-luxury price tag.

  • "Tasteful wood and chrome accents and some padded surfaces give a luxury feel to an otherwise commonplace interior. Note that 300 prices climb quickly with options, and what passes for acceptable at $30,000 seems inappropriately cheap on cars loaded to $45,000." -- Consumer Guide
  • "Exceptionally spacious." -- Forbes
  • "The quiet, upscale interior easily accommodates four tall adults." -- MSN
  • "The first thing you'll notice about the 300 interior is that it's huge, a real nod to those monstrous American sedans of the 1960s and 1970s." -- Automobile Magazine
  • "Classy and refreshingly clean in its execution." -- Road and Track

The 300 comfortably seats five in its huge cabin. The seats are well-built and supportive. We find few complaints about comfort, though some say the wide seats are too flat.

  • "Flat seat bottoms cause passengers to slide during aggressive cornering except in SRT8, which has grippy suede seat inserts." -- Consumer Guide
  • Front seats are "big and roomy, and there is tons of head and leg room." -- Detroit News
  • "Front bucket seats provide excellent lower back and thigh support, and feature adjustable lumbar support for both the driver and passenger." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "Seat are firm but not overly so, perfectly mated to the firmer ride quality of this car." -- Forbes
  • "Short windows start high up, so some drivers may feel like they're sitting in a bathtub or looking out through gun slits, but that's the trade-off for the hot-rod exterior styling." -- Automobile Magazine

Interior Features

Reviewers offer mixed opinions of the materials and electronics in the 300's cabin. Most seem to say it is well-designed. Some say materials quality, though, is below industry standard. Others have a better opinion of the fit and finish. Price matters here - base 300s compete with the Chevy Impala and Buick Lucerne, where the Chrysler's quality is up to snuff. Higher trim levels, however, compete with luxury cars, where they don't hold their own. Chrysler's MyGIG Multimedia Infotainment System, which stores music in an internal hard drive, and an available rear-seat entertainment system are highlights.

  • "Large, clear gauges, but some testers found nighttime legibility compromised because full instrument faces are backlit, rendering markings indistinct. All controls are within easy reach. The navigation system is relatively simple to use, despite a small screen." -- Consumer Guide
  • "Some of the plastic used in the cabin is the only off-note." -- Forbes
  • "Instrument panel and switchgear are easy to read and operate." -- New Car Test Drive
  • "Attractive, roomy and comfortable, but somewhat cheesy in execution." -- Arizona Republic
  • "While the materials aren't in the Lexus class, the overall ambience and feel of the 300 is one of a lot of car for the money." -- Automobile Magazine

No complaints here. The 2010 300 offers 17.2 cubic feet of trunk space -- more than most rivals. In-cabin storage is ample.

  • "300 has a large, deep trunk. Hinges don't intrude, but liftover is fairly high, and the opening is too small to load large cargo." -- Consumer Guide
