Buying Advice

Last Updated: May 13, 2020

Strong, but Falling Sales: The Chevy Equinox is currently one of the best-selling compact SUVs, only behind the Toyota RAV4, and just in front of the Honda CR-V. Even so, Equinox sales have fallen by 17 percent to start the year when compared with the same period in 2019.

Competitive Prices: The starting MSRP of the Equinox ($23,800) is slightly lower than the norm for a compact SUV. Still, budget-minded buyers may want to consider alternatives with lower starting prices, like the Hyundai Tucson.

Time to Buy: The Chevy Equinox is a practical choice, but robust sales right now mean it may be difficult to find a bargain. This month’s Chevy deals could help, though. If you plan to shop around, consider the Kia Sportage, a finalist for our 2020 Best Compact SUV for the Money award. While it is priced similarly to the Equinox, it places near the top of the compact SUV rankings. To help incentivize shoppers during the economic uncertainty caused by Coronavirus, Chevrolet is offering an enticing purchase deal of 0 percent APR financing for 72 months. Check out this month’s Chevy deals for additional finance and lease offers.
