The Ultimate Camaro Returns With the Track-Focused 1LE Package

In 2017, Chevrolet brought the Camaro ZL1 back from a short hiatus with a massive 650-horsepower engine under the hood to contest the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. For 2018, they’ve made the ZL1 even better with the availability of the 1LE Extreme Track package (pictured above).

The first Camaro ZL1 arrived in 1969 when creative Chevy dealers used a special ordering program to stuff aluminum-block 427-cubic-inch engines into Camaros intended for the street. In our rankings of sports cars, the newest generation of the Camaro holds a spot just below the class leading Ford Mustang and Mazda Miata.

The ZL1 is far from a mere appearance package. Chevy has upgraded the basic Camaro in a multitude of ways to make it go faster, grip better, and handle like a world-class performance car. Surprisingly, it doesn’t give up any of the Camaro’s technology and comfort features along the way.

Take a look at the following slides, where we break down all the things that make the 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 special.
