The 2019 Cadillac XT4 has a generally upscale interior quality and design. Passenger comfort and rear legroom are excellent, though back-seat headroom could be better. Cargo volume is decent for the class. Infotainment features are straightforward, though some controls are confusing.

The Cadillac XT4 seats five people on standard leatherette upholstery. An eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a six-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel are standard. Options include leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, four-way power front-seat lumbar adjustments, heated front seats, ventilated and massaging front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a power tilting-and-telescoping steering wheel, a heated steering wheel, and a sport steering wheel. The XT4 has two sets of lower LATCH anchors and three tether anchors.

Passenger comfort in both rows is excellent, with plush seats. The XT4 offers ample back-seat legroom, though headroom is a little tight for taller passengers.

Interior Features

Standard features in the 2019 XT4 include dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity key entry, remote start, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, the Teen Driver system, an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system, Bluetooth, four USB ports, a seven-speaker stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a built-in Wi-Fi hot spot. Optional features include a sunroof, a 13-speaker Bose premium sound system, navigation, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless device charging, front parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, a safety alert seat, a rearview mirror camera, a surround-view parking camera, automatic parking assist, a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, a following distance indicator, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and forward and reverse automatic emergency braking.

The XT4's infotainment system features both a touch screen and knob on the center console. Most critics praise the inclusion of a physical control to adjust the system, but a few think that it overly complicates things. The touch screen responds quickly to commands.

The 2019 XT4 has 22.5 cubic feet of space behind its second row of seats and 48.9 cubic feet with the back seat folded. These values are a little above average for the class. A power liftgate and a hands-free liftgate are optional.

You can fold down the second row to create a flat surface, and the cargo area is wide and open. However, the load floor and lift-in height is high.
