2015 Buick LaCrosse Interior Review

Note: This interior review was created when the 2015 Buick LaCrosse was new.

Interior: 7.7

Test drivers agree that the 2015 Buick LaCrosse’s exceptionally quiet cabin is outfitted with premium materials. They also praise its long-haul comfortable, roomy seats and its straightforward interior controls. However, critics are disappointed with its small trunk.

  • "The interior, already one of GM's strongest recent efforts, now features upgraded materials, more comfortable seats and the new-generation IntelliLink infotainment system." -- Left Lane News
  • "Last year, the Buick LaCrosse was on the receiving end of a host of updates improving the appearance and function of the interior. Thankfully, nothing has changed here, and the 2015 Buick LaCrosse remains a comfortable, cathedral-quiet and roomy sedan for driver and passengers.” -- Kelley Blue Book
  •  +“One of the car's best features is how well the engineers handled noise and vibration. In fact, the car was so quiet -- even on poorly maintained highways -- that the road sometimes faded away as an afterthought. With the engine off at every stop sign and red light, the quietness was even more noticeable in city driving." -- AutoTrader
  • "Slide behind the steering wheel of the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and you'll find yourself surrounded by graceful curves and upscale materials. Even after the sun sets, the cabin's flowing lines are emphasized by soft blue ambient lighting that adds a classy touch." -- Edmunds (2014)

The 2015 Buick LaCrosse seats five and comes with cloth upholstery and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. Leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a power rear shade are available. Test drivers praise the LaCrosse’s roomy, comfortable front seats and spacious rear seats and note that its cabin is exceptionally quiet, even at highway speeds.

  • "Although the seats are generally comfortable for long rides, they could benefit from a bit more bolster for front passengers' hips and thighs." -- AutoTrader
  • "As before, the LaCrosse offers ample rear seat space. ..." -- Left Lane News
  • "As you'd expect in a luxury sedan, the LaCrosse's cabin is long on comfort. Seats are supportive and there's plenty of leg- and shoulder room even in the backseat. The available heated steering wheel and heated and ventilated front seats are especially pampering." -- Edmunds (2014)
  • "Noise levels inside are commendably low and rear-seat space is notably generous." -- Kelley Blue Book (2013)

Interior Features

Standard equipment on the 2015 Buick LaCrosse includes dual-zone automatic climate control, remote start, a rearview camera, OnStar with 4G LTE (subscription required after a three-month trial), Buick’s IntelliLink infotainment system with an 8-inch touch-screen display, satellite radio, Bluetooth and a USB port. Available features include an 11-speaker Bose surround sound audio system, navigation, forward collision alert, lane change alert, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, a head-up display, a sunroof, push-button start and rear parking sensors.

Automotive writers are impressed with the LaCrosse’s easy-to-use IntelliLink infotainment system. They appreciate that there are multiple ways to controls the system, including knobs, a voice recognition system and steering wheel buttons. Still, a few reviewers think that although the system is intuitive, it can sometimes be slow to respond. Some reviewers also say the Buick LaCrosse’s optional head-up display is easy to read and is one of the best on the market.

  • "Connecting an iPhone to the system worked flawlessly, and the Bluetooth audio phone connection was clear and easy for incoming callers to understand, even at highway speeds. Buick's standard IntelliLink infotainment system also adds value." -- AutoTrader
  • "The head-up display on the 2015 LaCrosse sedan is one of the best we've seen. It displays speed, navigation instructions, audio status (including song titles) and other key information in your line of sight, seemingly out there over the hood, with easily adjusted brightness and vertical position." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "Redundant dashboard knobs and steering wheel controls give users alternate options for controlling IntelliLink, and there's also a new natural language recognition system that recognizes a staggering number of phrases - effectively eliminating the need for the clunky and cumbersome memorized commands." -- Left Lane News
  • "This year's updated infotainment system is pretty user-friendly, but it can be a bit of a reach for shorter drivers and it's sometimes painfully slow to react to touchscreen inputs." -- Edmunds (2014)

The 2015 LaCrosse has 13.3 cubic feet of cargo space, which is small for the class. With 10.8 cubic feet of space, Buick LaCrosse eAssist models have even less trunk room. Both models come with a split-folding rear seat, but some critics note the eAssist model’s battery pack blocks access from the trunk to the cabin.

  • "… if you fill the massive trunk, you've overpacked. The 4-cylinder model's eAssist battery pack compromises cargo space, but not too badly." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "… the 13.3-cubic-foot trunk is more appropriate to a compact sedan." -- Left Lane News
  • "Prospective Buick LaCrosse buyers should also be aware that this full-size sedan has an undersized trunk, a potential deal-breaker for some families." -- Edmunds
  • "A small trunk opening and high liftover restrict access to the cargo area. The eAssist battery pack steals space, eliminating most of the pass through to the cabin." -- Consumer Guide (2013)
