2011 Buick Enclave Review

The 2011 Buick Enclave's upscale interior, smooth ride and stylish looks make it an affordable alternative to some luxury SUVs. Its middling performance means the Enclave isn’t the most fun to drive, but good safety scores make the Enclave an excellent family SUV.

Pros & Cons

  • Tons of standard features
  • Lots of interior space
  • Good safety scores
  • Some cheap interior materials
  • Average fuel economy

2011 Buick Enclave Overview

Reviewers loved the 2011 Buick Enclave for its upscale interior, long list of standard features and roomy third row. Like its corporate siblings, the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse and 2011 GMC Acadia, the Buick Enclave has one of the largest cargo capacities in its class. Plus, testers noted that the 2011 Buick Enclave’s interior was particularly quiet and well-made. Combined with its good safety scores, these attributes make the Enclave one of the best three-row SUVs in its class.

The 2011 Buick Enclave has either front- or all-wheel drive. Standard features include tri-zone climate control, Bluetooth phone connectivity and a power liftgate, which were all optional on many competing midsize SUVs. Depending on the packages the used Enclave you’re considering is equipped with, you can also get a rearview camera, Bose sound system and leather upholstery, among other options.

Other Cars to Consider

The 2011 Ford Explorer offers a similarly upscale interior to the Buick Enclave, but the base model isn’t nearly as well-equipped. Still, test drivers said that the Explorer’s interior is attractively designed and well-made. Like the Enclave, the Explorer isn’t particularly nimble, and the Explorer’s third row also isn’t as roomy as the Enclave’s. Reviewers agreed, however, that if you’re looking for an affordable SUV with high-tech features, the Explorer is a good pick.

If you’re looking for a safe, reliable SUV with room for seven, and you don’t need all of the Buick Enclave’s bells and whistles, check out the 2011 Toyota Highlander. When it was new, reviewers said the Highlander’s interior was high-quality and its features were easy to use.
