2010 BMW X6 Overview

Though it made its debut in 2008, reviewers still weren’t sure how they felt about the BMW X6 in 2010. On the one hand, the general consensus was that it was one of the best-performing SUVs in its class, with superb handling, lots of power and great steering feel. A rarity for some performance-oriented vehicles, most reviewers said that even base trims of the X6 provided a superb drive.

However, reviewers’ biggest gripe about the X6 is where it falls in the market. It performs better than most SUVs, but not as well as a sports sedan like the 2010 BMW 5-Series. It doesn’t offer any more utility than a sedan, since it can only seat four and doesn’t offer much more cargo space, so most writers suggested that there isn’t much of a reason to choose the X6 SUV over a sedan.

Other Cars to Consider

If you’re drawn to the X6’s nimble driving dynamics, but want an SUV that has more interior space, consider the 2010 Porsche Cayenne. Like the X6, the Cayenne comes standard with all-wheel drive and a range of powerful engine choices.

If you want a little more practicality in your SUV without sacrificing much performance, consider the 2010 Infiniti FX. Test drivers said its handling is fantastic, and its available V8 engine is powerful. Not only is the FX one of the sportiest crossovers on the market, but its interior is high-tech and upscale, and it offers more seating capacity and cargo space than the X6.
