Buying Advice

Last Updated: January 17, 2020

Rising Sales: BMW X3 sales improved by 14.3 percent last year relative to 2018. The X3 finished the year as the second-highest-selling luxury compact SUV, behind only the Mercedes-Benz GLC. The X3 also outsold its sibling, the BMW X4, by just more than 8 to 1.

Competitive Prices: A base model X3 starts at $41,950, which is about $1,000 over the average for base models in the segment. Likewise, a fully-equipped X3 comes in at $76,900, which is around $14,100 more than the class average for top-trims.

Time to Buy: Considering the growing demand, you likely won’t be able to find a bargain price on a new X3. This month's BMW deals may help you find some additional savings. For a lower price, check out the Lexus NX. It starts about $5,100 below the X3, but a top-of-the-line model costs a stunning $34,000 less than a fully-loaded X3.
