The 2010 BMW 3-Series Sports Wagon has a six-cylinder engine paired with a manual transmission. An automatic transmission is available. Test drivers said the engine is smooth and the 3-Series Sports Wagon has a lot of passing power. Reviewers liked the manual transmission more than the automatic because they said the automatic can sometimes be slow to shift. Fuel economy for the 3-Series Wagon with the manual and automatic is 17/27 and 18/27 mpg, respectively. These fuel economy estimates are typical for the class. Test drivers said the 3-Series Sports Wagon has confident and balanced handling. The 3-Series Sports Wagon has standard rear-wheel drive, but there is an available all-wheel drive system.   

Reviewers liked the interior of the 3-Series Sports Wagon, but said it is bland compared to its competitors. Test drivers said head room is lacking for all people in the car and taller passengers will have difficulty getting comfortable. The BMW 3-Series Sport Wagon has a maximum cargo space of 25 cubic feet, which is low for the class. Standard features include heated side mirrors, leatherette seating, a 10-speaker stereo system with HD Radio and automatic climate control. The 3-Series Sports Wagon is also available with Bluetooth, a sunroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, navigation, active cruise control and a multi-media interface. Many reviewers didn’t like BMW’s multi-media interface, and said it’s complex.
