The 3-Series wagon is available with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic that test drivers said shifts smoothly. Rear-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is available. The 2012 328i Sport Wagon gets up to 18/27 mpg city/highway, which is a bit less than what the 2012 Audi A4 Avant and Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon get. Automotive journalists appreciated the 2012 BMW 328i wagon’s straightforward interior styling and high-quality materials, including available wood or aluminum accents and soft-touch surfaces. They wrote that the front seats are very supportive, with plenty of head- and legroom, and that the rear seats have adequate space for most people.
