4) 2020 Toyota Sienna
$31,565 | U.S. News Overall Score: 8.0/10
Quality: The 2020 Toyota Sienna has several solid points in its favor. It comes with a powerful V6 engine, plus a history of good safety and predicted reliability scores. It’s also the only minivan with available all-wheel drive. It comes with smartphone connectivity and a long list of standard driver assistance features. However, it hasn’t had a thorough update in several years, and its design feels less modern than its rivals.
4) 2020 Toyota Sienna
Value: The Sienna’s starting price is in line with most of its competitors. The average price paid by shoppers is about $37,000, but you’ll likely pay more than $53,000 over five years for depreciation, maintenance, and fuel costs.
3) 2020 Chrysler Pacifica
$33,745 | U.S. News Overall Score: 8.3/10
Quality: The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica is second in the minivan class, thanks in part to its well-designed interior filled with upscale materials. The easy-to-use infotainment system comes with the most popular features, including smartphone connectivity, and there are more features available, including a Wi-Fi hot spot. The Pacifica’s predicted reliability is average, and it performed well in crash tests.
3) 2020 Chrysler Pacifica
Value: The Pacifica’s starting price is one of the highest in the class, even after being one of the lowest in 2019. That’s because Chrysler dropped the two lowest trims from the lineup, so the base trim this year is much the same as the middle trim last year. That means more features, but it also means a higher starting price. The Pacifica gets great gas mileage for a minivan, but it will still cost about $55,000 over five years. That’s mostly due to depreciation, maintenance, and repair costs.
While we didn’t cover it here, Chrysler also offers the Pacifica Hybrid. If the Pacifica sounds great to you, but you’d like a bit more fuel economy, check out the Pacifica Hybrid’s review.
2) 2020 Honda Odyssey
$30,690 | U.S. News Overall Score: 8.6/10
Quality: The 2020 Honda Odyssey is one of the best minivans on the market. The interior is stylish, roomy, and comfortable, with high-quality materials throughout. Its infotainment system is straightforward to use. It received an average predicted reliability rating and good crash-test scores. Only a rearview camera is standard, but the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance features is available.
2) 2020 Honda Odyssey
Value: The average price paid for the Odyssey is $37,976, which is second highest in the class. But its total cost of ownership over five years is $53,166, which is in line with its competitors for fuel, maintenance, and depreciation costs.
1) 2020 Kia Sedona
$27,400 | U.S. News Overall Score: 8.1/10
Quality: The 2020 Kia Sedona lands in the middle of our minivan rankings. It has less interior room than its rivals, but that’s the only box it doesn’t tick. It has a very nice interior, a user-friendly infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, and a V6 engine. A long list of safety technology features is available, though only a rearview camera is standard. The Sedona performed well in crash tests, and its predicted reliability is above average.
1) 2020 Kia Sedona
Value: The Sedona has many of the features found in its rivals but for a starting price several thousand dollars lower. The average price paid was $30,192, and you can expect to pay $47,725 over five years with the Sedona. Some of that ownership cost is due to the Sedona’s lower fuel economy estimates when compared with other minivans. But that’s still at least $5,000 less than others in its class.
