Here Is Our Full Ranking From the U.S. News Best Large Cars for Families Award

The large sedan was once a staple of the American driveway. With the ongoing shift to SUVs, fewer buyers are opting for large sedans. They're still an excellent choice for families, though. Large cars typically have tons of rear-seat legroom, comfortable rides, decent fuel economy, and ample hidden storage in their trunks.

At U.S. News & World Report, we honor those cars, SUVs, and minivans that excel in the areas critical to families with our Best Cars for Families award. The essential factors we look closely at include safety, interior space, quality, and features designed for kids and parents. The research considers the consensus opinion of the nation’s top new vehicle reviewers, safety and predicted reliability ratings, interior room and cargo volume, and the availability of family-friendly features and technologies.

Each year, we present Best Cars for Families awards for 11 vehicle classes, with one winner (with the highest composite score) and two runners-up in each class. On the following pages, we'll explore the large car class in more detail to show how each eligible vehicle compared with the competition. Not all large cars have sufficient scores to be considered for the awards.

We continually update our scores as new information becomes available. Because we do frequent updates, the ratings shown in this article may not match the overall or component marks shown in the comprehensive reviews of the individual vehicle.
