2017 Mazda Miata MX-5 RF

The top on the MX-5 RF tucks into its trunk in 12 seconds, and drivers can stow the top while traveling up to six mph. Mazda says when the top is stored in the trunk, the MX-5 RF still "offers the same amount of trunk space as the soft-top model."

The MX-5 RF will be powered by the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as the soft-top 2016 Miata MX-5, and paired with either a standard six-speed manual transmission, or an optional six-speed automatic. Mazda did not announce when the fastback MX-5 RF will go on sale.
