The NICB also released data on which cars from the 2015 model year were stolen the most during 2015. The 2015 Nissan Altima was stolen more than 1,100 times, while Chrysler 200 was stolen 1,069 times.

According to the NICB, many of these thefts could have been easily prevented if the owners had simply locked their car doors. In addition, the group says owners should have warning devices like alarms, immobilizing devices like kill switches, and tracking devices to help keep tabs on their cars.
