Inside, the Traverse can seat up to eight people and has sliding second-row seats that make the third row accessible. The CR-V comes standard with a USB port, a rearview camera, and Bluetooth. If you want to splurge for some extras, optional features include push-button start, Honda LaneWatch, adaptive cruise control, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Our 2016 Best Luxury Compact SUV for the Money, the 2016 Lexus NX has a luxurious cabin, comfortable seats, and composed handling around corners. The NX may not be the most athletic car in the segment, but it holds its own with adequate power from a four-cylinder, 235-horsepower engine.
Standard on the NX is dual-zone automatic climate control, Siri Eyes Free, satellite radio, and a 7-inch display operated by a joystick control mounted on the console. The interior comes with leatherette upholstery on supportive seats, and the NX also has some of the most spacious rear seats in the class. 2016 Kia Sportage
Deal: $199 per month for three years with $1,999 due at signing
With the redesigned 2017 Kia Sportage hitting the market, the 2016 Sportage is available with impressive deals across the country. The Sportage, which currently sits in the ninth spot on our compact SUV rankings, comes standard with an impressive turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 182 horsepower.
Even though it has impressive performance, the interior of the Sportage is what keeps it from moving up in the rankings. The cabin is full of hard plastics, the cargo capacity is low for the class, and some test drivers wish there were more padding in the seats. However, both the navigation system and dashboard controls are easier to use than those in rival vehicles.
