Subaru recently announced pricing information on the fully redesigned 2015 Subaru Legacy. The 2015 Legacy will start at $21,695, plus $795 for destination and delivery. The 2015 Subaru Legacy's base price is $1,400 more than that of the outgoing 2014 model.
The all-wheel drive 2015 Legacy is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 175 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. A 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine is available, producing 256 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. The Legacy now comes standard with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), as Subaru has dropped the six-speed manual that is standard on the 2014 model. Subaru estimates that the 2015 Legacy will get up to 26/36 mpg city/highway, which is improved over the 2014 model's estimates of up to 24/32 mpg.
Standard features on the 2015 Legacy include a rearview camera, HD Radio, Aha, Pandora Internet radio, a new infotainment system with a 6.2-inch touch-screen display, Bluetooth, a USB port and an auxiliary audio jack. Optional features include navigation, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon stereo system, a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with text messaging capability, satellite radio and push-button start. Also available is Subaru's EyeSight driver assistance system, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and pre-collision braking. There is also an available rear radar safety system, which provides blind spot detection, lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert.
The 2015 Subaru Legacy debuted at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show in early February, and Subaru says models will hit dealerships this summer.
