The 2015 Audi TT will be introduced next month at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. Audi released a teaser image and a few sketches of its redesigned sports coupe's exterior yesterday and displayed the interior last month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The sketches and teaser image show the TT's headlights, and Audi notes in a press release that the TT will be available with headlights with optional LED (light-emitting diode) technology or its Matrix LED headlights.
According to Edmunds, the Matrix lights are brighter than other headlights and automatically adjust so that they do not shine directly at oncoming vehicles, but still illuminate the road ahead. Edmunds reports that Audi's new headlights would need special government approval to be offered in the U.S.
Audi says the 2015 TT's design is meant to be a modern interpretation of the first generation TT, which went on sale in 1998. No powertrain details have been released yet, but Audi suggests there will be multiple engine offerings, saying that most models will feature dual exhaust pipes and the TTS will have quad exhaust pipes.
Publications such as Car and Driver note that the sketches of the 2015 TT evoke the styling of the Allroad Shooting Brake concept, which was shown at last month's Detroit Auto Show.
The 2015 Audi TT's interior was introduced last month at the Consumer Electronics Show. In a press release, Audi says the interior features a virtual cockpit, which is a digital instrument panel with a 12.3-inch screen in the gauge cluster that "displays all the information directly in front of the driver, meaning that there is no need for a central MMI monitor."
Audi has yet to release any details about pricing or when the 2015 TT will hit dealerships.
