Dodge announced today that the 2014 Durango will have the same starting price as the 2013 Durango, while offering more standard features. The 2014 Durango will start at $29,795, which does not include a $995 delivery fee, when it goes on sale at the end of September.
Dodge says in a statement the 2014 Durango has “more than $3,500 in added content” over the 2013 model. New for 2014 is an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters that replaces the five-speed automatic. Also newly standard for 2014 are Dodge’s LED racetrack taillights, Bluetooth, a 5-inch touch screen and a 7-inch gauge cluster.
The base 290-horsepower V6 engine carries over for 2014. Combined with the new eight-speed automatic, the Durango will get a fuel economy boost. Dodge expects the base 2014 Durango to get up to 25 mpg on the highway. In comparison, the base 2013 Durango gets 16/23 mpg city/highway. The optional 360-horsepower Hemi V8 also carries over for 2014, and is available on the new-for-2014 Limited model and is standard on the R/T model. This engine is also mated to the eight-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available with either engine. V6 models can tow up to 6,200 pounds and V8 models can tow up to 7,400 pounds.
