If you’ve got a hankering for a new Buick or GMC, you may want to hold off, as General Motors announced that it will roll out “nine new or significantly updated models” in the next year. The 2013 Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia will be the first models out of the gate. Both affordable midsize SUVs will offer updated exterior and interior styling when they go on sale this fall.

The 2013 Buick Encore is next up, and GM says that the new affordable compact SUV will hit dealer lots in early 2013 with a starting price of $24,950 plus a $750 destination charge. Redesigned or updated Buick Regal and LaCrosse models will also go on sale in 2013, while updated GMC models will include GMC Sierra and Sierra HD trucks, as well as Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs. By the end of 2013, the Buick Verano and GMC Terrain will be the oldest non-commercial vehicles on Buick and GMC lots.

A redesigned GMC Canyon is also in the works, though the automaker says that its release date will be announced later. Truck Trend speculates that the redesigned Canyon “will probably be unveiled sometime next year, and launched as a 2014 or 2015 model.”

An all-new Canyon could be a fit rival for top-ranked compact pickups like the Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma. Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick and GMC Marketing, says “We believe that introducing a new, agile and efficient mid-size Canyon will meet the needs of many pickup buyers.”
