The 2013 Nissan Sentra is getting a complete overhaul, and the automaker has released a teaser video to show shoppers what they can expect from the revamped affordable small car. The 2013 Sentra is one of five redesigned vehicles Nissan plans to introduce in the next 15 months.
Only the 2013 Nissan Altima has been revealed so far, making its debut earlier this month at the New York Auto Show. “The redesigned-for-2013 Altima sedan will go on sale this summer, followed by the updated Pathfinder SUV and the new Sentra this fall,” Kicking Tires reports. “The Versa compact hatchback and Rogue compact crossover are next.”
Jalopnik predicts the new 2013 Sentra will be almost identical to the Sylphy concept that was revealed at the Beijing Motor Show this week. “The proof is in Nissan's teaser video for the 2013 Sentra, showing a car that is missing the Sylphy's chrome grill bars and wood interior trim, but is an exact match in every other way.”
The 2012 Nissan Sentra currently ranks toward the bottom of affordable small cars. Auto critics think the 2012 Sentra is a good car, but rivals are significantly better in terms of performance, fuel economy and price. “While buyers looking for affordable transportation will still find the 2012 Nissan Sentra worth a look, the car ultimately feels a little long in the tooth compared to its newer or more recently refreshed competitors,” Edmunds writes.
