Infiniti has released images of an upcoming hybrid sports car concept, which will debut in March 2012 at the Geneva Auto Show. “At the Geneva Show next year, we will present our vision for a totally new kind of inspired premium performance car,” says Andy Palmer, executive vice president of Nissan, in a press release.
Official specs on the new concept car have yet to be released. However, Autoweek indicates that the new concept will combine a gas engine with an electric motor “to find the balance between environmental friendliness and driving joy.” Not unlike the Chevrolet Volt, the concept will use its gasoline engine to supplement the electric motor and extend its range.
But the luxury sports car concept boasts more than just a unique powertrain. Edmunds reports that the car “will preview the brand’s future design language,” which means we’ll eventually see its styling cues on future production models.
