May car sales were a mixed bag, and that means that to get a good deal on a new car in June you’ll have to tailor your shopping to the market. Take Ford, for example. Sales for the company overall fell 0.1 percent compared to May 2010, but sales of the Ford Focus were up 31.7 percent. At the same time, sales of the Ford F-150 were down 15 percent.  Jeep sales rose 55 percent compared to May 2010, while Toyota sales fell 33 percent. Also, industry-wide incentive spending on small cars was down in May, while incentive spending on trucks and SUVs was up.
