More on Ford Deals

Ford Financing and Cash Back

Most Ford models have low-interest financing or cash back offers of a few thousand dollars. For example, you could get the 2018 Ford Focus (MSRP: $17,950) with $3,250 cash back or zero percent financing for five years. Let’s say you take the cash back deal and secure your own financing at the national average interest rate of 4.77 percent for five-year new-car loans. In this case, you would end up paying around $16,550. Over the course of the loan, Ford’s finance offer would cost you about $1,400 more than the cash back deal, making the financing incentive the pricier of the two deals.

Ford rebates aren’t always better than the brand’s financing incentives. Consider the 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid, which has a base price at $27,555. It’s available with $2,500 cash back, or you can opt for zero percent financing for five years plus $1,500 bonus cash. Taking Ford’s cash back deal and securing your own financing at the average rate of 4.77 percent for a five-year loan would cost roughly $28,200. You would pay around $26,055 if you opted for Ford financing instead, which saves you about $2,150 over the course of the loan.

Some models are available with zero percent financing, and even the ones that aren’t still generally have better rates than what your local bank or credit union can offer you. Zero percent financing is available for most every model in the 2018 Ford lineup except the C-Max Hybrid and the EcoSport. You can also get zero percent financing on the 2019 Ford Fusion, 2019 Fusion Energi, Flex, Fiesta, and Mustang.
