Sales Decline: -15.1% (Details Below)

So far in 2017, Acura sales are down 15.1 percent, which means one of the most affordable luxury brands should be even more affordable right now. Unlike many other brands, it’s not just sedans from Honda’s luxury division that have experienced a downturn in sales, as Acura dealers have sold 14.4 percent fewer SUVs this year than they did over the same period in 2016.

SUV buyers should consider the midsize Acura MDX, which boasts a long list of standard features, excellent gas mileage, poised handling, plenty of space, and a comfortable ride. Those attributes, along with its affordable price and low long-term ownership costs, helped the MDX earn our 2017 Best Luxury 3-Row SUV for the Money award. That hasn’t been enough to induce a spike in sales though. In fact, Acura dealers have sold 10 percent fewer MDX models so far this year than they did over the same period in 2016.

If you don’t need an SUV, Acura’s compact car, the ILX, has a lot to offer, including composed handling, good gas mileage, and a quiet cabin, but it hasn’t been selling well this year. In fact, ILX sales are down 47.8 percent so far in 2017.

With such slow sales, Acura dealers will be more likely to cut you a deal to clear out inventory. For the lowest price near you, use the U.S. News & World Report Best Price Program. Plus, taking advantage of this month’s Acura deals could result in even more savings.
