2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid

According to the experts, the 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid offers a strong value, earning spots in the upper half of our midsize car rankings and a tie for the top spot in the hybrid and electric car segment. The Fusion Hybrid is based on Ford’s popular five-passenger Fusion sedan, providing all the same comforts of that car, along with EPA ratings of 44/41 mpg city/highway.

The Fusion Hybrid combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, yielding a total of 188 horsepower. Test drivers say that it’s a lot sportier to drive than people might expect, with smooth acceleration and sufficient throttle response. While some hybrids suffer from a detectable shift between gasoline and electric power, the Fusion Hybrid’s drivetrain operates relatively seamlessly. The 2016 Fusion Hybrid’s handling is a little better than average for a midsize sedan.
