2013 Audi TT Overview

The TT is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which most reviewers say delivers plenty of power. Audi TTS and TT RS models come with more powerful turbocharged four- and five-cylinder engines, respectively. A six-speed automated manual transmission is standard on 2013 TT and TTS models, while the TT RS comes with a six-speed manual transmission. The EPA reports that the 2013 TT gets 22/31 mpg city/highway, which is comparable with what rivals like the base BMW Z4 and Mercedes-Benz SLK250 get. While most reviewers write that the TT offers composed handling and a ride that’s comfortable by sports-car standards, they also note that the Porsche Boxster provides more athletic handling and better overall performance.

Auto writers agree that the Audi TT features an attractive, well-built interior that’s constructed with high-quality materials. Many test drivers write that the Audi TT offers comfortable and supportive front seats, as well as more cargo space than many sports cars in the class. Reviewers say that most of the TT’s interior controls are easy to use, though they also note that the optional navigation system can take time to master. The Audi TT comes standard with automatic climate control, automatic windshield wipers and headlights, Bluetooth and a nine-speaker stereo with satellite radio. Optional features include a Bose sound system, navigation, an iPod interface and parking sensors.

  • "The 2013 Audi TT is a stylish choice in the personal sporty car realm thanks to its premium feel and avant garde appearance. But most competitors are more appealing overall." -- Edmunds
  • "With a broad mix of capability, style and performance, the 2013 Audi TT ranks among the most versatile luxury sports cars on the market." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • “While Porsche's Boxster and Cayman are ultimately sportier than the TT 2.0T and TTS, this Audi's more civilized demeanor might be just the thing for more casual motoring.” -- Consumer Guide (2012)
  • "I liked this little runner. It's not for everyone, as some will seek a raw sports-car experience and others will trend toward the larger, more powerful muscle coupes of Detroit. Still, it fills a niche and even wears a bit of a halo for Audi." -- AutoWeek (2012)

Other Sports Cars to Consider

The Mercedes-Benz SLK250 offers a comfortable ride and composed handling, just like the TT. Although it isn’t available as a coupe, the SLK250 comes with a retractable hardtop and offers slightly more cargo space than the TT Roadster.

Reviewers agree that the Porsche Boxster is one of the most dynamic performers in the class. Like the SLK250, the Boxster is only available as a convertible, but test drivers love its luxurious and functional interior.
