2009 Audi TT Overview

Refreshed for 2009, the Audi TT gains a new performance-tuned TTS trim that test drivers report ups its performance credibility. Still, competitors like the Chevrolet Corvette and BMW Z4 trump the TT on the track. Taken as a whole, however, few luxury sports cars can match the TT's combination of sports performance, ride comfort, and all-around luxury. "Thanks to a distinctive design and respectable driving dynamics, the 2009 Audi TT coupe and roadster offers a balance of performance, sophistication and style," writes Edmunds.

The 2009 TT is available in three trims -- 2.0T, 3.2, and TTS -- and two body styles, coupe and roadster (convertible).

  • "When it first hit the streets for the 2000 model year, the radically styled Audi TT - sleek and bulbous and minimalist at once - left not a single head unturned in its wake. Eight years and a truckload of design awards later, that car has earned for itself a place in automotive history. While it would be unrealistic to expect the same kind of visual impact from its follow-up, with its second-generation TT, Audi has delivered a car that's even more exciting than the first." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • The TTS is "the best TT to date, and it has all those traditional TT virtues -- brilliant looks, handsome cabin, superb craftsmanship -- in spades. Plus the poseurs, who want the additional credibility that comes with owning the finest TT of all, will love it more than ever." -- Motor Trend
  • "For many people in this market, the gorgeous Audi interior - especially with the lovely baseball-glove-style, stitched-leather option - combined with the TTS's aggressive looks and powerful engine will make it a very attractive car. But we'd still sacrifice some of the Audi's standard features for the pure, emotional feel of the long-standing king of the category, the Porsche Boxster." -- Automobile Magazine
  • "In the end, if you're going for a hard-core sports car, you're probably not looking at the TT, no matter how improved it is in that regard. Plus, if you want to be practical about it, you can get the 3.2-liter engine in an A3 3.2 Quattro and have nearly the same amount of fun-plus room for five people and their stuff." -- Car and Driver
  • "If you're looking for a sporty weekend toy, or even a year round sports car, make sure the 2008 TT is on your shopping list. Be careful about how you outfit your TT, though, because prices rise quickly with options." -- New Car Test Drive
