Buying Advice

Last Updated: January 16, 2020

Middling Sales: The Audi Q3 placed in the middle of the pack at the end of the 2019 luxury subcompact SUV sales race. Dealerships sold 11.9 percent fewer Q3 models in 2019 compared to 2018. At the end of the year, the Mercedes-Benz GLA had outsold the Q3 by about 50 percent, and the dominant Cadillac XT4 had it beaten by more than 2 to 1.

Slightly Below-Average Prices: A base Q3 starts at $34,700, which is about $500 below the class average price for base trims. Similarly, a top-trim Q3 starts just below the segment average for top-tier trims.

Time to Buy: With slow demand and below average pricing, now is a good time to act if you’ve been waiting for the right moment to snag a price below sticker. However, be sure to act fast since the Q3 was redesigned for the 2019 models year and demand may rise quickly as more shoppers take notice of the latest edition.
