The 2020 Audi e-tron has an attractive interior with lots of quality materials, an advanced dual-screen infotainment system, and generous seating space in both rows. There’s also quite a lot of cargo space for a luxury EV SUV.
The Audi e-tron is available in SUV and Sportback body styles. Both have five seats. The front seats are comfortable and supportive, and there’s lots of head and legroom for taller occupants. The rear seats aren’t as supportive, but there’s still plenty of room for adults to fit comfortably. One of the e-tron’s top highlights is its quiet cabin; there’s very little wind or road noise at speed.
Leather upholstery and front seats with heat and ventilation are standard. Massaging front seats and heated rear seats are available. For securing child car seats, there are two full sets of LATCH connectors for the rear outboard seats and an upper tether for the rear middle seat. This LATCH system is considered easy to use.
Standard features in the e-tron include two touch screens, a digital gauge cluster, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, two USB ports, HD Radio, satellite radio, a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo, a smartphone charging pad, four-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, a power liftgate, a sunroof, and Audi's Virtual Cockpit, which replaces the traditional gauge cluster with a customizable 12.3-inch digital display.
A surround-view parking camera system, parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, front and rear collision warning, a rearview camera, and automatic emergency braking are also standard.
Available features include side collision warning, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, a head-up display, ambient interior lighting, an air fragrance system, rear sunshades, and power soft-closing doors.
The dual-screen infotainment system has a bit of a learning curve, but it’s user-friendly once you get the hang of it. The upper 10.1-inch touch screen controls the radio, the navigation system, and the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps. The lower 8.6-inch touch screen handles the climate controls. Most reviewers find the graphics crisp and the menus easy to understand.
The Audi e-tron SUV has 28.5 cubic feet of cargo space with its rear seats up and 57 cubic feet with them folded. The e-tron Sportback has a lower roofline that reduces these capacities slightly to 27.2 and 54.5 cubic feet, respectively. Those are good figures for the luxury hybrid and electric SUV class.
