The 2014 Audi A7 wows reviewers with competent handling, a refined engine and standard all-wheel drive. Despite its size, critics agree that the A7 still feels athletic on a twisty road.

Acceleration and Power

The 2014 Audi A7 is powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that produces 310 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, while the A7 TDI features a turbodiesel 3.0-liter V6 engine that generates 240 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard on both models. The A7 gets an EPA-estimated 18/28 mpg city/highway, which is very good for an all-wheel drive super luxury car. Additionally, the diesel-powered A7 TDI earns outstanding fuel economy estimates for the class of 24/38 mpg city/highway.

The high-performance Audi S7 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that generates 420 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed automated manual transmission and all-wheel drive are standard. Audi says that the S7 has a top speed of 155 mph, and that it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. The Audi RS7 has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 560 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Reviewers are pleased with the A7’s supercharged V6, saying that it provides plenty of power in all situations. Still, many reviewers are particularly impressed with the smooth and responsive turbodiesel engine in the A7 TDI, which they say gives ample power whether you’re pulling away from a stop light or passing on the highway.
