Is the 2013 A6 the Best Model Year to Buy?

The 2013 Audi A6 is part of a generation that launched for 2012. The model’s exterior was restyled in 2016. A used 2012 A6 will most likely cost you less than a used 2013 model, but you’ll miss out on the upgraded stereo systems offered for 2013. Further, the S6 model wasn’t produced until 2013. If you have extra wiggle room in your budget, you may want to consider a used 2014 A6 to get standard heated front seats and a more powerful engine.

Which Used Audi A6 Is Right for Me?

There are four trim levels for the 2013 A6: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige, and the performance-oriented S6. The Premium trim offers Bluetooth, keyless start, cruise control, automatic headlights, alloy wheels, and tri-zone automatic climate control. The Premium Plus offers Xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running light technology, and an infotainment system with 7-inch screen. The Prestige trim has adaptive Xenon headlights, 12-way power-adjustable seats, a power tilting-and-telescoping steering wheel, quad-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, and a 14-speaker stereo system. The S6 offers sport seats with integrated head restraints, an adaptive air suspension, and custom front brakes. The Premium Plus trim is a good choice with its mixture of features that boost functionality over those found in the Premium trim.

Even with the A6’s above-average reliability, you may want to consider a certified pre-owned model for added peace of mind. Audi CPO vehicles receive the balance of the original four-year/50,000-mile new-car warranty, then enjoy an additional two-year/50,000-mile comprehensive warranty. The two warranties differ in important ways, and there may be additional services like roadside assistance, so read the Audi warranty page carefully. Audi CPO models must pass an inspection covering 300-plus points. The model's original sale date determines whether or not it is eligible for the CPO program.
