2010 Audi A6 Overview

When it was new, reviewers liked the 2010 Audi A6 for its stylish exterior and well-built interior. For 2010, the A6’s base engine received a slight boost in power. However, most reviewers still thought the base A6 3.2 was underpowered when compared with rival luxury cars. However, most test drivers loved the supercharged 3.0T trim for its additional horsepower and standard all-wheel drive. Several reviewers said they’d take the supercharged V6 over the A6’s top-of-the-line V8, noting that it offered a good balance of power and fuel economy. The 2010 A6 gets up to 18/28 mpg city/highway, which is pretty good when compared with other cars in the class.

Reviewers thought that with Quattro, Audi’s well-liked all-wheel drive system, the A6 offered one of the best driving experiences in the class. Without Quattro, they felt the A6 only handles adequately. The A6 earns excellent safety scores.

Inside, the A6 has a cabin that reviewers said is modern and luxurious, but Audi’s confusing MMI system detracts from the interior’s appeal. Test drivers praised the A6’s high-quality fit and finish, noting the fine wood trim and metal accents. In terms of seating, reviewers felt that the A6 provided all-day comfort and support in all positions, especially the highly-adjustable driver’s seat.

The base 2010 Audi A6 3.2 Premium comes standard with a sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, leather, power front seats, Bluetooth and a 10-speaker stereo with an iPod connection and satellite radio. Higher Premium Plus and Prestige trims add features like navigation, push-button start, adaptive headlights, a backup camera and an upgraded stereo.

Other Cars to Consider

If you’re considering an A6 because of how it drives, you should give the 2010 BMW 5-Series a look. The 5-Series was considered by reviewers to have the most exciting performance in the class, though its safety scores aren’t as high as the A6’s.

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has what reviewers thought is the nicest cabin in the class. Comfortable seats also heighten the E-Class’ appeal, though it doesn’t come with quite as many standard features as the A6.
