Which Model Year of the A4 Is Best?

Audi launched the fourth-generation of the A4 sedan for 2009. The car saw minimal updates over this generation, but it saw its biggest changes for the 2013 model year, when Audi refreshed the A4's exterior and interior styling, as well as its infotainment system. These refinements make the 2013 to 2016 models better choices than older models. Audi redesigned the A4 once again for 2017.

What Does Audi's Certified Pre-Owned Warranty Cover?

Audi offers a certified pre-owned program for cars five years old or less and with fewer than 60,000 miles. Qualifying vehicles bought under the new-car warranty period have coverage until five years from the vehicle’s original in-service date, with no mileage limitation. Certified pre-owned Audis purchased after the four-year new-car warranty has ended receive an additional one-year/unlimited-mileage comprehensive warranty. This is not an extension of the new-car warranty. The two warranties differ in important ways, so read Audi’s warranty page carefully. Audi CPO models must pass a 300-plus-point inspection.

Among luxury car manufacturers, Audi’s CPO program is about average, according to our research. You’ll find better programs from Infiniti, Lexus, and Jaguar.

2015 Audi A4 Versus the Competition

Which Is Better: 2015 Audi A4 or 2015 BMW 3 Series?

It’s hard to go wrong with either the 2015 BMW 3 Series or Audi A4. Both luxury small cars have quality interiors, pleasant handling, and potent engine performance. Both also rate well for crash safety. The BMW offers an easier-to-use infotainment system, and it yields superior fuel economy with its available diesel engine (up to 31 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway). However, the A4 has a better reliability rating. Test drive both models to see which one you prefer.

Which Is Better: 2015 Audi A4 or 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

The 2015 Mercedes C-Class sedan is a stunning car. It boasts top-notch cabin quality, a silky smooth ride, brawny engines, and an exceptionally long list of active safety features. Still, the A4 is a better option for most shoppers. The C-Class has one of the lowest reliability ratings in the class, and its infotainment system is frustratingly complex. We recommend the A4 over the C-Class.

2015 A4 Performance

How Does the 2015 Audi A4 Drive?

The Audi A4 has a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 220 horsepower. A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive are standard. The Quattro all-wheel-drive system is available, and models with AWD are available with either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic. This engine operates quietly, and it scoots the A4 up to speed with confidence. There’s ample passing power at highway speeds as well, but only when paired with the six- or eight-speed transmission. The CVT feels rather unresponsive by comparison.

The A4 strikes a nice balance between handling agility and ride comfort. The sedan feels athletic and well-balanced around turns, and its steering is quite responsive. The suspension shrugs off road bumps and dips nicely as well, delivering a smooth and relaxing ride.

Want better performance? Look no further than the S4 variant. It has a supercharged V6 with 333 horsepower and Quattro all-wheel drive. It comes with either a six-speed manual gearbox or seven-speed automatic transmission. The S4 can sprint from zero to 60 mph in under five seconds, and its stiffer suspension delivers even sharper handling. The trade-off is that the S4 doesn’t ride as comfortably on rough roads.

Does the 2015 Audi A4 Get Good Gas Mileage?

The Audi A4 and S4 get decent fuel economy estimates by class standards. The A4 with FWD returns 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. A4 models with Quattro AWD get 21-22 mpg in the city and 30-32 mpg on the highway. The S4 manages up to 18/28 mpg city/highway.

How Many People Does the 2015 A4 Seat?

The Audi A4 is a four-door sedan with five seats. Up front, the seats are comfortable and supportive for longer drives. The rear seats are accommodating, with both rows offering generous head- and legroom for taller passengers. Leather upholstery is standard, but heated seats are available. The A4’s interior is among the best in its class thanks to its combination of high-quality materials and minimalist styling. The cabin remains quiet at higher speeds as well.

How Many Car Seats Fit in the 2015 Audi A4?

The A4 has two full sets of LATCH connectors for securing child car seats.

2015 Audi A4 Features

The A4 comes standard with automatic climate control, keyless entry, and Audi's MMI infotainment system with a 6.5-inch display, satellite radio, a CD player, and Bluetooth. Available features include a navigation system, a Bang & Olufsen stereo, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.

The air conditioning controls are simple to use, but the infotainment controls aren’t so straightforward. The rotary dial and assortment of buttons tend to add extra complication to steps to otherwise simple operations, like changing the radio station.
