Reviewers said the 2012 A4 Wagon’s responsive turbocharged four-cylinder engine provides strong acceleration, and they added that the A4 Wagon has no trouble keeping up with six-cylinder rivals. The A4 Wagon comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, which is unusual in this class. According to the EPA, the 2012 Audi A4 Wagon gets 21/29 mpg city/highway, which is good for an all-wheel drive wagon. Critics said the Audi A4 Wagon’s ride is comfortable and strikes a nice balance between Mercedes-Benz-soft and BMW-firm. They wrote that the A4 Wagon has fairly sporty handling, with well-controlled body motions during cornering.
